    Abstract: A rotary electric machine control apparatus (1) suitably controls two inverters (10) connected to associated ends of open windings (8). The rotary electric machine control apparatus (1) performs target control involving: controlling a first one of the inverters (10), which is selected from a first inverter (11) and a second inverter (12), by rectangular wave control; and controlling a second one of the inverters (10) by special pulse width modulation control that is one type of pulse width modulation control. The special pulse width modulation control is a control method to produce a switching pattern (Su2+) that is based on a difference between a switching pattern resulting from the pulse width modulation control and a switching pattern (Su1+) resulting from the rectangular wave control when a target voltage is to be generated in the open windings (8).

The method is provided for forming a thin-film layer of a sensor composed of a solid electrolyte which is a molded body having an inner space, a reference substance filled in the inner space, a reference electrode connected to the reference substance and led out to the outside of the inner space, and a thin-film layer comprising a ceramic powder or a metal powder as the main component and formed on the outer surface of the solid electrolyte in such a manner that part of the outer surface is exposed. This thin-film layer is formed by printing.

    Abstract: Process of recovering a hydrophobic organic compound(s) by contacting a chemically activated shaped carbon with a hydrophobic organic compound to repeatedly absorb and desorb the compound, thereby recovering the same. The activated carbon is such that it has a bulk density of 0.25 to 0.6 g/cm.sup.3, a pore volume of 0.65 to 1.2 cm.sup.3 /g, a bulk density.times.pore volume of 0.25 to 0.4 cm.sup.3 /cm.sup.3, a surface area of at least 1000 m.sup.2 /g, a mean pore size of 18 to 35 angstroms, a bulk density.times.surface area of at least 400 m.sup.2 /cm.sup.3, and which chemically activated carbon effectively adsorbs butane in an amount of 8.0 to 15 g/100 ml. The process is especially suitable for absorbing gasoline vapor in an automobile exhaust and releasing the absorbed gasoline for reuse in the operation of the engine.
