  • Patent number: 8167631
Abstract: The present invention provides a card edge connector as a high-speed differential signal connector configured to equalize electric potentials of ground contacts adjacent to signal line contacts, and thus to reduce crosstalk between adjacent signal line contacts. The card edge connector serves as a female connector in which multiple signal line contacts and multiple ground contacts are arranged in parallel in at least one row. In the card edge connector, the signal line contacts and the ground contacts are arranged in a way that every two signal line contacts for high-speed signals to send and return respectively therethrough are interposed between two ground contacts, and all of the multiple ground contacts arranged in the one row are electrically connected to one another by use of a common contact.

  • Patent number: 7204715
Abstract: A coaxial connector comprises a contact electrically connected with a core of a coaxial cable, a shell electrically connected with a shield of the cable, and a housing that supports the contact and insulates the contact from the shell. The capacitance between the portion consisting of the contact and the part of the core connected thereto together with an insulator exposed out of the shield, and the shell, is adjusted by a capacitance adjustment plate so that the coaxial cable has characteristic impedance of a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 7064626
Abstract: A board-to-board electrical connector is so constructed that when connectors 2 and 3 are fitted to each other, capacitive coupling plates 24 and 34 are brought into the state in which they partly confront each other, with a space between each other, and also a coupling capacitance between the capacitive coupling plates 24 and 34 is adjusted by adjusting an area formed by partly confronting portions of the capacitive coupling plates 24 and 34 and a distance between the partly confronting portions of the capacitive coupling plates 24 and 34. With this construction, the board-to-board electrical connector having a specified band-pass characteristic is achieved.

  • Patent number: 6947011
Abstract: A connector unit for a high frequency radio apparatus having a housing, a first internal antenna, a radio unit, and an external antenna. The connector unit includes: a printed board having a first microstrip line and a second microstrip line; a fixed contact provided on the printed board; a movable contact provided on the printed board; and a socket. In the connector unit, when the external antenna is inserted into the socket, a distal end of the external antenna enters between the movable contact and fixed contact, and abuts on and presses the movable contact to separate it from the fixed contact. In contrast, when the external antenna is drawn from the socket, the movable contact abuts on the fixed contact. Thus, an antenna switching mechanism can be realized with a simple configuration. The first internal antenna and external antenna can be used in an optimum condition.

  • Patent number: 6589081
Abstract: A contact 24 and a conductor plate 26, 27 are held in the housing 21 so that portions of the contact 24 except its end portion 24a and the plate 26, 27 can be put in a parallel relation to each other. Also, a contact 34 is held in the housing 31 so that when the connector 2 and 3 are fitted to each other, portions of the contact 34 except its end portion 34a and the plate 26, 27 can be put in a parallel relation with each other. Further, the end portions 24a and 34a are so shaped that the distance between the signal line formed by the contacts 24 and 34 and the plate 26, 27 can be kept substantially uniform. This can provide a stabilized impedance of the signal line formed by the contacts being contacted with each other.
