  • Publication number: 20050163146
Abstract: An LAC manages multicast destinations, and forms and distributes copies of the multicast packets. An L2TP tunnel and an L2TP session are formed between LAC 1-i and LNS 2-i, and LNS 2-i is connected to network NW2 such as the Internet. Data is transferred between a subscriber and the network through the L2TP connection. LNS 2-i and sever S1 are connected through network NW2 which has routers. A packet transfer apparatus enables LAC 1-i to manage subscriber information and to form and distribute copies of the packets to the subscribers when server S1 on network NW2 distributes multicast packets of a program or the like to the subscribers.

  • Publication number: 20050111455
Abstract: One physical VLAN server provides a plurality of VLANs with services. VLANs #1 to #3 are connected to the VLAN server though a switching hub. The VLAN server includes server processes #1 to #3 corresponding to the VLANs #1 to #3, respectively, for providing the VLANs with services. The server processes #1 to #3 each have internal IP addresses N1, N2, and N3. The VLAN server has external IP addresses G1, G2, and G3 for the VLANs #1 to #3, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20030219023
Abstract: A packet transfer apparatus having a plurality of protocol processing units 10 and a switch 20 for switching IP packets among the protocol processing units, wherein a protocol processing unit connected to an IPv4 network includes: input-side address translator CNv6(I) for translating the address of an input packet to an IPv6 address; output-side address translator CNv4(O) for translating, when an IPv6 packet is received from the switch, the address to an IPv4 address and transferring the resultant packet to the IPv4 network; and an operation mode controller for omitting address translation by the input-side address translator.

  • Publication number: 20030115482
Abstract: The convenience of access control services which are provided as additional services other than a network connection service are enhanced. In compliance with a request for connection to a service network 22 (in FIG. 1) as has been made by a subscriber, a subscriber accommodation device 1 connects a corresponding one of subscribers' terminals 6a-6c and a server 41 or 42 in a server network 4 as is available to the subscriber, by a bridge connection or a router connection, thereby to construct a closed network. Besides, in compliance with a request for altering the setting of filter information as has been made by a subscriber, the subscriber accommodation device 1 alters packet filtering which is to be applied to IP packets that are exchanged between a corresponding one of the subscribers' terminals 6a-6c and the service network 22.

  • Patent number: 6500393
Abstract: A cylindrical honeycomb structure formed by spirally winding a strip metal flat sheet and a strip metal corrugated sheet overlapped thereon. The metal flat sheet is welded, at each turn, to the metal corrugated sheet at a plurality of axially arranged welding positions on each portion where the metal flat sheet contacts the metal corrugated sheet. Letting L be the axial length of the honeycomb structure and D be the diameter of the honeycomb structure, the maximum value L1 of distances between adjacent welding positions satisfies at least one of relationships given by L1≦/D/2 and L1≦/L/2, or the distance L2 between the outermost welding positions in the axial direction of the honeycomb structure and the outer end face of the honeycomb structure satisfies at least one of relationship given by L2≦/D/20 and L2≦/L/10.

  • Publication number: 20020176414
Abstract: An access node run as a packet switching apparatus enables IP connection services for a plurality of access methods; e.g., relatively low-speed IP connection, high-speed IP connection, and mobile network IP connection. By using this apparatus of the present invention, cost can be reduced and upgrading to advanced access networks and access services is easily carried out. Provision of the above access nodes implements upgrade-type network services common for diverse protocols. Each access node retains a pathfinding table to which input port, input tunnel identifier and input session identifier entries in a set are registered per session. When routing a packet, by looking up the set of these entries matching with the packet, the associated output port, output tunnel identifier, and output session identifier are obtained. After processing for the packet, appropriate for one of the plurality of access methods and network services, the node forwards the packet over the routed path.

  • Publication number: 20020167938
Abstract: A packet switching apparatus is constructed by a basic module disposed in the apparatus casing and an additional module disposed on the outside of the apparatus casing. The basic module has a common processing function irrespective of an access method and a service type, an interface accommodating lines to be connected to the Internet, and a plurality of interface boards conformed to a specific access method by which a hardware scale may be small. Only the basic module functions as a packet switching apparatus, and a processing function peculiar to each access method and service type is executed by the additional module.

  • Publication number: 20020081245
Abstract: A cylindrical honeycomb structure 23 is formed by spirally winding a strip metal flat sheet 21 and a strip metal corrugated sheet 22 overlapped thereon while welding, for each turn, the metal flat sheet 21 to the metal corrugated sheet 22 at a plurality of welding positions W1 to W6 axially arranged on each of mutual contact portions of the metal flat sheet 21 and the metal corrugated sheet 22. Letting L be the axial length of the honeycomb structure 23 and D be the diameter of the honeycomb structure 23, the maximum value L1 of distances each between adjacent ones of the plurality of welding positions W1 to W6 satisfies at least one of relationships given by L1≦D/2 and L1 ≦L/2, or the distance L2 between the outermost one W1 or W6 of the plurality of the welding positions W1 to W6 in the axial direction of the honeycomb structure 23 and the outer end surface of the honeycomb structure 23 satisfies at least one of relationships given by L2≦D/20 and L2≦L/10.
