Patent number: 8381707Abstract: Internal combustion engine air-fuel ratio control apparatus and method in which the target air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas flowing into an exhaust-gas purification catalyst unit is controlled through at least proportional-integral control such that the correction amount per unit time of the oxygen amount in said catalyst unit is maintained constant. When the intake air amount is smaller than a predetermined amount and the air-fuel ratio detected by an oxygen sensor provided downstream of the catalyst unit is rich, the target air-fuel ratio is controlled to suppress an increase in the air-fuel ratio in the exhaust-gas purification catalyst unit. Accordingly, even if rapid acceleration operation is performed in a state where the intake air amount is extremely small and the air-fuel ratio detected by the oxygen sensor is rich, NOx in exhaust gas can be sufficiently removed through reduction reactions at the exhaust-gas purification catalyst unit.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 2009Date of Patent: February 26, 2013Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiroaki Mizoguchi, Norihisa Nakagawa

Patent number: 8230846Abstract: The present invention relates to an air-fuel ratio control device for an internal combustion engine, and makes it possible to maintain high purification performance by suppressing a decrease in the oxygen occlusion capability of a catalyst. When an O2 sensor output oxs is greater than a reference value oxsref, which corresponds to a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, and smaller than an upper threshold value oxsrefR, a sub-FB reflection coefficient is fixed at a predetermined value vdox2 for providing a lean air-fuel ratio. When, on the other hand, the O2 sensor output oxs is smaller than the reference value oxsref and greater than a lower threshold value oxsrefL, the sub-FB reflection coefficient is fixed at a predetermined value vdox2 for providing a rich air-fuel ratio. The sub-FB reflection coefficient reflects the O2 sensor output oxs in the calculation of a fuel injection amount and increases or decreases to have a consequence on the air-fuel ratio of an exhaust gas.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2008Date of Patent: July 31, 2012Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Takahiko Fujiwara, Hiroaki Mizoguchi, Norihisa Nakagawa, Taiga Hagimoto, Naoto Kato, Shuntaro Okazaki

Patent number: 7925364Abstract: Provided is an audio reproduction device capable of immediately starting to reproduce audio data, particularly compressed audio data, from an arbitrary point in a forward or a backward direction at an arbitrary speed. In the case where data, to be reproduced, which is stored in a storage device is compressed data, the compressed data is temporarily stored in a RAM. Then, the stored compressed data is decoded by a decoder, thereby extracting a segment of PCM data. The segment of PCM data is supplied to a PCM data buffer formed in a RAM via a reproduction controlling microcomputer. Based on an operation of a rotational operation element, the PCM data stored in the PCM data buffer formed in the RAM is reproduced by a reproduction processing circuit, thereby reducing a rapid change in reproduction speed.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2005Date of Patent: April 12, 2011Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Hiroaki Mizoguchi, Hiroyuki Kotani, Masami Yasui, Toshikazu Murai, Nobuo Moritani

Patent number: 7729847Abstract: The combustion air-fuel ratio is made leaner than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio at the time of engine startup and the combustion air-fuel ratio is made richer than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio and the exhaust downstream part of the three-way catalyst apparatus is raised in temperature when it is judged that just the exhaust upstream part of the three-way catalyst apparatus arranged in the engine exhaust system has been raised to the catalyst activation temperature.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2007Date of Patent: June 1, 2010Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiroaki Mizoguchi, Takahiko Fujiwara, Kunihiko Nakata, Kenji Sakurai, Hiroki Ichinose, Masaaki Kawai, Atsunori Hirata

Publication number: 20090094963Abstract: A PM sensor for measuring particle matter in exhaust gas is disposed between a three-way catalyst and a muffler in an exhaust pipe, and has an oxidation catalyst and an electrical heater that are stacked together, and a temperature sensor that measures a temperature of the oxidation catalyst interposed between the oxidation catalyst and the electrical heater. The oxidation catalyst carries a ceria as an oxygen-storing agent that occludes oxygen in the exhaust gas, and a ECU calculates a sediment amount of the exhaust particulate matter based on an amount of temperature rise when the electrical heater heats the oxidation catalyst and an accumulated value of an intake air amount.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 14, 2007Publication date: April 16, 2009Applicant: TOYOTA JIDOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Hiroaki Mizoguchi, Takahiko Fujiwara

Patent number: 3997806Abstract: A rotor for a flat-type motor is constructed to include a flat armature, which comprises a flat armature winding in the form of a disk, and an insulating resinous body in which the armature winding is embedded. The insulating resinous body has a greater thickness than the armature winding so as to cover the winding, but is formed with cooling structure, such as grooves and bores, in positions where the coil portions of the armature winding on which the magnetic flux of the field magnets acts effectively are embedded, thereby promoting dissipation of heat from the armature winding.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 1974Date of Patent: December 14, 1976Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Kunihiro Noto, Hiroaki Mizoguchi
