  • Publication number: 20100321114
Abstract: An amplifier circuit includes a variable gain amplifier that amplifies and outputs a signal from an output port, a controller operable to change an gain of the variable gain amplifier, a mixer that mixes the signal output from the output port of the variable gain amplifier with a local oscillating signal to heterodyne the signal and outputs the heterodyned signal, a filter that outputs a signal component having a predetermined frequency out of the signal output from the mixer, and a detector that detects a power level based on power of the signal output from the filter. The controller is operable to change the gain according to the first power level such that a quality level representing quality of the signal output from the filter becomes a target quality level immediately after the gain is changed. The amplifier circuit can have small power consumption.

  • Patent number: 7818635
Abstract: In a digital broadcast receiver, when a bit error rate (BER) is larger than a threshold in a BER determining part, power is supplied to a first tuner and a second tuner for diversity reception. When the BER is smaller than the threshold, power supply to one of the first tuner and the second tuner is stopped for single reception. This structure allows power supply to one of the tuners to be stopped in excellent reception environments, thus reducing power consumption.

  • Patent number: 7787841
Abstract: The demodulator in the receiving module of the invention supplies a signal produced based on a signal level detected by a first detector to a second amplifier as an amplification degree adjustment signal. With this arrangement, when a second receiver works, an AGC voltage supplied to the second receiver is already close to an ultimately converging certain value. The AGC voltage supplied to the second receiver is thus stabilized in its value, from the value close to the ultimately converging certain value to the certain value. Accordingly, a time period required from the second receiver starts working until the AGC voltage supplied to second amplifier ultimately converges into the certain value is shortened.

  • Publication number: 20100201412
Abstract: An oscillator unit is configured such that a frequency adjustment unit of a synthesizer used by a controller is smaller than a frequency variation tracking capability of a demodulator connected to an output side of a frequency converter. This structure successfully combines the temperature compensation control of an oscillator unit and the receiving process of a high-frequency receiving device. Accordingly, an oscillator unit with large temperature coefficient is applicable to high-frequency receiving devices.

Abstract: In an image rejection mixer, when a signal in the first radio frequency band is inputted to an input terminal, the first mixer and the second mixer convert the input signal in the first radio frequency band to a signal in the first intermediate frequency band by using the first local signal from a local signal oscillator, and a filter circuit attenuates an image interfering signal existing in the first intermediate frequency band by means of the first attenuation band. Also, when a signal in the second radio frequency band is inputted to the input terminal, the first mixer and the second mixer convert the input signal in the second radio frequency band to a signal in the second intermediate frequency band by using the second local signal from the local signal oscillator, and the filter circuit attenuates an image interfering signal existing in the second intermediate frequency band by means of the second attenuation band that is narrower than the first attenuation band.

  • Publication number: 20100082377
Abstract: In one embodiment, there is provided a computer implemented method for evaluating risks of conflicts in separation of duties matrices. The computer implemented method receives a set of input data comprising a set of task information and a set of employee information to form received input, generates a risk control matrix from the received input, having a risk associated with each risk control of the risk control matrix, and generates an “n×n” weighted separation of duties matrix from the risk control matrix, wherein (Ti,Tj) represents a task pair, and Risk(Ti,Tj) represents a risk value of a conflict of the task pair (Ti,Tj). The computer implemented method further generates a task to employee assignment (p1, p2, p3 . . . pk) such that ?{1?x?k}?{(Ti,Tj)?px} Risk(Ti,Tj) is minimized. The first summation is formed over variable x, from 1 through k, while the second summation is formed over task pairs (Ti, Tj) in the assignment px, which is the task set assigned to employee “x.

  • Publication number: 20100035570
Abstract: If receiving circuit is in a high-sensitivity mode, receiving circuit is switched to a low-sensitivity mode when the BER according to BER measurement circuit becomes more favorable than a release threshold. If receiving circuit is in the low-sensitivity mode, receiving circuit is switched to the high-sensitivity mode when the BER according to BER measurement circuit becomes more adverse than a start-up threshold. If switching between the high-sensitivity and low-sensitivity modes occurs, control is exercised so that switching from the high-sensitivity mode to the low is resistant to occurring, thereby suppressing the occurrence of a reception error caused by switching between the receiving modes.

  • Patent number: 7616939
Abstract: A receiver and an electronic device are provided that suppress deterioration of the signal waveform of a symbol. The receiver has a filter that sends out an output signal having a symbol at an arbitrary time interval; and an intermittent operation part that controls the filter intermittently at an arbitrary time interval, according to an output signal supplied from the filter. This arrangement prevents deterioration of the signal waveform of a symbol, by setting the timing for switching the signal for controlling the frequency characteristic of the filter, to an arbitrary period between symbol periods such as a guard interval.
