  • Patent number: 4157457
Abstract: A frequency analyzer of a predetermined number of channels comprises a digital band-pass and a digital low-pass filter section. A preselected number of digital samples sampled with a sampling period are stored in a buffer memory to be read out in each sampling period. A band-pass parameter memory memorizes for the respective channels band-pass filter impulse responses, each having preselected values, equal in number to the preselected number. A band-pass filter calculator calculates a convolution of each read-out digital sample and the preselected values of each response. The low-pass filter section produces frequency analysis results for the respective channels in each analyzing frame period equal to a first prescribed number of the sampling periods.

  • Patent number: 4059725
Abstract: A speech pattern recognition system for continuous speech is disclosed. The system includes calculating means which calculates similarity measures between an input pattern and all of the series of patterns including reference word-patterns arranged in all possible orders through a pattern matching process without resorting to a segmentation process. The reference pattern which provides the maximum similarity measure is adopted as the recognized result.

  • Patent number: 4049913
Abstract: A continuous speech recognition system comprises a word number specifier for specifying, as the number of continuously spoken word or words, either a single integer or a set of different integers. The single integer may be manually or automatically adjusted. In compliance with the specified word number or numbers, the system carries out pattern matching between an input pattern representative of the spoken word or words and a predetermined number of reference patterns. The matching may be carried into effect by dynamic programming. The input pattern is recognized to be one of the reference patterns or to be a concatenation of some or all of the reference patterns, equal in number either to the single integer or to one of the different integers.

  • Patent number: 3979722
Abstract: A character recognition device comprises a memory for memorizing standard patterns, each given by fundamental vectors. A dynamic matching unit finds out a maximum of degrees of coincidence between an input character and line patterns derived from each of the standard patterns by varying the magnitudes of the vectors between predetermined minima and maxima and derives similarity measures defined by the maximum degrees of coincidence between the input character and the line patterns derived from the respective standard patterns and specific line patterns for which the maximum degrees of coincidence are found. A decision unit compares the similarity measures with one another, judges whether or not the input character has a feature predetermined for each of the standard patterns, and delivers a result of the recognition in response to results of the comparison and judgment.
