  • Publication number: 20030154768
Abstract: An airtightness failure inspection method according to the present invention comprises an initial step of generating an independent constant flow of gas in the interior of a cover 11 formed in such a manner as to surround an inspecting area of an inspection object and a detector 17, a pre-inspection step of sealing a tracer gas in the interior of the inspection object under pressure and placing the cover over the inspecting area, a measuring step of introducing a gas containing the tracer gas that has leaked from the inspecting area and which is drawn out of the cover into the detector for measuring the amount of the leak and a cleaning step of cleaning up flow paths constituting the flow path systems and instruments including the detector after the measurement is completed.

  • Publication number: 20020050349
Abstract: A heater/cooler unit of an automotive air conditioning system, comprises a casing, an evaporator, a heater unit and at least one duct. The casing has air inlet and outlet openings which are connected through an air flow passage defined by the casing. The casing includes an enlarged portion and a reduced portion by which an enlarged part and a reduced part of the air flow passage are defined respectively. The casing thus has a concave contour defined by the reduced portion thereof. The evaporator is installed in the enlarged part of the air flow passage. The heater unit which is smaller in size than the evaporator is installed in the reduced part of the air flow passage. The duct snugly extends along the concave contour of the casing. The duct has one end connected to a downstream portion of the air flow passage.

  • Patent number: 6222300
Abstract: A spectrum diffusion signal including data representing a center frequency of an acoustic surface filter in a transmitter side is transmitted with its carrier-frequency being swept. When a receiver side receives a modulation signal, a spectrum diffusion signal including data representing a center frequency of an acoustic surface filter in a receiver side is transmitted on the carrier-frequency equal to the center frequency of the surface acoustic wave matched filter in the transmitter side included in the modulation signal. Thereafter, the transmitter side transmits spectrum diffusion signals having the carrier-frequency equal to the center frequency of the surface acoustic wave matched filter in the receiver side included in the modulation signal.

  • Patent number: 6163668
Abstract: A composite apparatus includes a business-machine main-body apparatus having at least a copying function and a printer function, and a display device, also operating as an original-pressing plate, having a flat display surface for displaying an operational function and other information. The display device is provided above an original-reading device of the main-body apparatus. By allowing an operation using the display device from a plurality of sides of the main-body apparatus, the range of selection of location of the composite apparatus is widened, and the operability of the composite apparatus is improved.

  • Patent number: 5884875
Abstract: A mounting structure for mounting an air conditioning unit to a vehicle body and an method of mounting the unit are provided. The structure includes an instrument panel, a steering member and brackets. In assembling, the air conditioning unit and a heater control unit are fixed to the steering member through the brackets, at first. After control cables of the heater control unit has been connected to the air conditioning unit, the instrument panel is assembled to a vehicle body while allowing the heater control unit through the opening of the instrument panel. Therefore, it is possible for a worker to carry out both assembling of the air conditioning unit and the heater control unit and electrical connecting of the control cables in a free space without being restricted in terms of operative directions and posture, so that the workability can be improved remarkably.

  • Patent number: 5715705
Abstract: An evaporator/expansion valve unit for use in an automotive air conditioning system, comprises an evaporator which includes first and second parallely extending elongate tanks and a plurality of flat hollow elements mounted on the first and second elongate tanks. The interior of each element is in a fluid communication with the interior of each tank. The first tank is formed with inlet and outlet openings. A block type expansion valve has a first passage which is closed when a spherical valve body abuts against a given part of the first passage against a certain force applied thereto and a second passage which has a temperature sensing means by which the certain force is varied in accordance with the temperature of a refrigerant flowing in the second passage. The first passage has an outlet opening connected to the inlet opening of the first tank. The second passage has an inlet opening connected to the outlet opening of the first tank. The expansion valve has the first tank directly mounted thereon.

  • Patent number: 5435437
Abstract: A device-accommodating box suitable for accommodating a conversation machine for physically handicapped people, or the like, in which the surface upon which the accommodated device is operated is easily tilted by utilizing a lid so that the device-accommodating portion can be secured stably. Pivotally hinged inside and outside lids are arranged to be overlapped with each other on the device-accommodating portion. Thus, the accommodating portion can be secured at different angles by combining the inside and outside lids at various degrees of pivoting.

  • Patent number: 5036182
Abstract: A bar code reading apparatus for detecting the space between characters (the character space) by counting the number, which is a fixed number in the bar code, of edges, or transition points, of the bars and spaces for each character code, and either inhibits the count value by its bar/space width counter for the space beyond the fixed number of bars/spaces for one character (i.e., the count value for the character space) from being supplied to its decoder portion, or supplies the decoder portion with a specific code which the decoder will neglect in decoding, whereby the character space is prevented from adversely affecting the bar code reading.
