  • Publication number: 20080186413
Abstract: A video display apparatus generates luminance information for individual frames of a video signal from histograms of the luminance component of the video signal, and classifies the content of the video signal on the basis of this information. Color saturation information is also generated from color saturation histograms, and scene changes are detected. Video correction parameters and display control parameters are derived from the content classification and color saturation information. The video signal is corrected according to the video correction parameters, and displayed according to the display control parameters. Display characteristics suitable for the video content are thereby obtained. The parameters are changed when a scene change is detected, so that the viewer is not disturbed by the change in video display characteristics.

  • Publication number: 20080177407
Abstract: It is one object of the present invention to provide a program writing method of numerical controller, a numerical controller and a cutting machine controlled thereby achieving to write a plurality of programs relating to one axis to perform a high efficiency in the small lot of productions. A next or later user-set-program controlling a duplicated axis controlled by plural user set programs identifies a virtual axis virtually controlled by own user set program, a program is written to replace the duplicated axis to the virtual axis. A control amount calculated by the user set program identifying the virtual axis is added to a control amount input to a correspondent axis driving program as a control amount of duplicated axis before replacing to the virtual axis.

  • Patent number: 7397483
Abstract: In tetrahedral interpolation suitable for data conversion implemented by digital computations, when the unit rectangular hexahedron is a regular hexahedron, no complicated multiplication is required, and the computation volume can be greatly reduced. However, when the unit rectangular hexahedron is not a regular hexahedron, since a complicated multiplication is required, the computation volume increases considerably. To avoid this, after the grid spacing is set (S1), X-u?, Y-v?, and Z-w? tables for obtaining the positions of an input value with respect to normalized grid points are prepared (S2-S4). Subsequently, image data is input (S5), and u?, v?, and w? corresponding to the input image data are obtained using the prepared tables (S6). The relationship among u?, v?, and w? is determined (S7), and data-converted image data is calculated using an equation corresponding to the determination result (S8).

  • Publication number: 20080055290
Abstract: A field sequential color display is obtained by successive display of a sequence of monochrome images of different colors. Monochrome images in at least one of the colors are displayed with light of two different brightness levels, the light of the lower brightness being used to display comparatively low gray levels, the light of both the lower and higher brightness levels being used to display comparatively high gray levels. This scheme provides extra resolution at the low end of the gray scale, and increases the number of displayable gray levels by counteracting the loss of gray levels that occurs due to gamma correction.

  • Patent number: 7324147
Abstract: An imaging system controller (5) outputs a control signal (VC). The control signal (VC) gives a command to output driving clocks (?Vn, ?Hm) of an imaging element (1) in a signal transmission period, and a command to suspend output of the clocks (?Vn, ?Hm) in an idle period subsequent to the signal transmission period. The length of the idle period is a multiple of the length of the signal transmission period by a natural number. The imaging system controller (5) periodically repeats output of the control signal (VC) giving these commands a number of times corresponding to the number of horizontal lines of the imaging element (1). In response to the commands of the control signal (VC), a timing generator (2) generates and outputs the clocks (?Vn, ?Hm), and suspends generation and output of the same. An imaging device (10) thereby intermittently drives the imaging element (1), to generate and output a picked-up image signal (V2).

  • Publication number: 20080018807
Abstract: A field sequential color display is obtained by successive display of a sequence of monochromatic images. Each monochromatic image is displayed with light occupying a different wavelength region, but one of the wavelength regions includes part or all of another one of the wavelength regions. These two wavelength regions are used to display one of the original primary colors of the color image, the included or partially included wavelength region being used for comparatively low gray levels and both wavelength regions being used for comparatively high gray levels. This scheme provides a way to increase the number of gray levels that can be displayed following a gamma correction, as well as broadening the gamut of reproducible colors.

  • Publication number: 20070292147
Abstract: With this invention, compatibility between an image forming apparatus and a component mounted on the image forming apparatus is precisely checked. A cartridge as the component stores its ID (first information) and an ID (second information) of the image forming apparatus that can use the cartridge. The image forming apparatus stores its ID (third information) and an ID (fourth information) of the cartridge that can be used in the image forming apparatus. Then, when the fourth information includes the first information or the second information includes the third information, it is decided that the cartridge mounted in the image forming apparatus can be used. When the fourth information does not include the first information and the second information does not include the third information, it is decided that the cartridge mounted in the image forming apparatus cannot be used.

  • Patent number: 7298893
Abstract: In an image processing device and image processing method in which first image data consisting of a plurality of color data and constituting image information for each pixel are input, and second image data consisting of a plurality of color data are calculated and output, after color conversion of the first image data, dither processing is applied to produce the second image data. As a result, information of the fractional part generated as a result of the color conversion is not omitted but preserved. Tone conversion may be performed after the color conversion, and before the dither processing. The image processing device or image processing method can restrain reduction in the number of colors that can be expressed, and restrain the generation of discontinuities (irregularities) in the change of data, while realizing an “exact color reproduction” or “preferred color reproduction.

  • Publication number: 20070132680
Abstract: A field-sequential display apparatus having a light source that emits light of different colors in different subframes of an image controls the spectral distribution of the light emitted in each subframe according to characteristics of the input image data, or to ambient conditions or other user-specified conditions. The input image data are processed so that image colors are displayed correctly despite changes in the spectral distribution of the light-source colors. This scheme enables the gamut of reproducible colors to be altered from frame to frame to provide an appropriate balance between brightness and color saturation in each frame, and to compensate for ambient lighting conditions.

  • Publication number: 20070126896
Abstract: A regression analysis is carried out (8) using pixel signals having a K-th spectral characteristic as the explanatory variable and pixel signals having an L-th spectral characteristic as the purpose variable in a plurality of pixel positions in an area neighboring a pixel of interest to obtain a pixel signal having the L-th spectral characteristic (9). Pixel signals obtained by low-pass filtering (7a-7c) of the output signals of an imaging device may be used as the explanatory variable and the purpose variable. The occurrence of false colors is thereby reduced when, in a group of pixel signals from pixels arrayed on a two-dimensional plane, each pixel having one of a plurality of spectral characteristics, the missing colors at each pixel position are obtained by interpolation.
