  • Patent number: 5579121
Abstract: A real-time image compression processor records on a CD or other recording media a compressed video signal which is compressively processed in a high recording efficiency at real-time as being reproduced by a VTR while preventing the image quality from being degraded. There are provided a first encoder for compressively encoding the video signal, and a second encoder for compressively encoding the signal obtainable by delaying such video signal for a given period of time. A parameter adjustment is executed for the second encoder in accordance with the compressed video signal obtained through the compressive encoding by the first encoder. The compressed video signal obtained by the second encoder is recorded on a recording medium.

  • Patent number: 5404792
Abstract: A piston for an internal combustion engine comprises at least a pair of ribs arranged between an inner surface portion of a skirt and side portions of pin bosses. The ribs are symmetrical with respect to a thrust center line of the piston and have in a longitudinal direction thereof a center line which is positioned to be lower than an axis of a piston pin.

  • Patent number: 5331932
Abstract: A piston skirt has narrowed relief sections adjacent piston bosses and between first and second relief sections. The first relief sections extend between a piston head and respective piston bosses whist the second relief sections extend downward from the respective piston bosses. The narrowed relief sections are spaced from each other in parallel to piston pin holes at a distance which is smaller than that at which the first and second relief sections are space from each other, respectively. The narrowed relief sections are formed thicker and therefore more rigid than the first and second relief sections so that the piston skirt is more rigid adjacent the piston bosses and less rigid above and below the piston bosses, whereby to effectively lessen side thrust of the piston to the cylinder wall without deteriorating the durability.

  • Patent number: 5076226
Abstract: In order to ensure an adequate supply of oil onto the thrust surfaces of a reciprocating type internal combustion engine piston, recesses are formed in the skirt proximate each thrust surface. The boundary defined between the surface of the skirt and the recess is defined by a rounded surface which smoothly merges the recess with the surface of the skirt, eliminates sharp edges, and permits oil to flow uninhibited out of the recess onto the thrust surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5071621
Abstract: A method of supplying scents to a room of a motor-car. In this method, a scent holder is provided within the room of the motor vehicle, the scent holder containing scents bearing materials for emitting different scents useful for a driver of the motor vehicle. Reference data for respective driving conditions of the motor vehicle are stored, the reference data indicating need for supply of respective scents. After storing the reference data, a driving condition of the motor vehicle is detected for producing an electric drive signal representing the driving condition. The drive signal thus produced is compared with a corresponding reference datum for determining whether or not the detected driving condition requires one of the scents contained in the scent holder. When the detected driving condition requires the one scent, one scent bearing material containing the one scent is selected. Then, the one scent from the one scent bearing material is supplied to the room of the motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5030253
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fragrant air supplying method, supplying apparatus, and a building having a fragrant air supplying system for supplying fragrant air to the rooms. A fragrant-material supplying means supplies fragrant material to a mist-generating means to generate mist either by blowing air or by vibration produced by an ultrasonic-oscillating means. The mist is blown to a surface portion formed at the end of a fragrant-air separating means which separates evaporated fragrant air from mist. The fragrant air is then introduced into holes formed in a fragrant-air discharging means, in which the place of holes are offset from the surface portion toward the downstream of the fragrant air. The fragrant air is then blown into a distributing passage from the fragrant-air discharging means to mix the fragrant air with conditioned-air supplied by an air-supplying means.

  • Patent number: 5023020
Abstract: A method for supplying aromas to a space includes the steps of retaining a plurality of aromatic materials in respective reservoirs, selecting at least one of the aromatic materials according to a predetermined timetable determined on the basis of activities of people in the space at each time, diffusing a predetermined amount of the selected aromatic material in air to obtain aromatized air, and sending the aromatized air into the space. The apparatus for supplying aromas includes a receptor having plural aromas, a controller for controlling the receptor to select one stated aroma from the plural aromas in the receptor according to an influence on people by the stated aroma at a stated time in a day, and a ventilator for supplying an air containing the stated aroma. A facility provided with an apparatus for supplying aromas includes plural zones with each being provided with the apparatus, and plural routes for connecting the zones to each other.

  • Patent number: 5006058
Abstract: An apparatus for injection molding a substrate of an information recording disk in which melted molding material is injected into a mold space after a pair of mold bodies are clamped together. An uneven surface area is provided between a cutting device for cutting the cured molding material at the molding surface and an aperture for supplying the pressurized gas for causing the cured molding material to be released. The flow of pressurized gas through the cut portion of the cured molding material is prevented and force is generated by the pressurized gas causing the cured molding material and a stamper forming the molding surface to release uniformly from the mold.

  • Patent number: 4798490
Abstract: A method for using and reusing an invertible correction tape assembly on a typewriter, the assembly comprising a dispensing reel and a winding reel united by a length of correction tape wound upon each. The assembly is designed for invertible attachment to typewriters having correction tape reel-attaching support shaft members, each having a base flange, a first locking pawl and a second locking pawl, so that the assembly can be mounted in both normal and inverted positions. In both positions the dispensing and winding reels are mounted on the base flange, engaged at the lower side by the first locking pawl at the upper side by the second locking pawl. After the correction ribbon is fully dispensed, the assembly is removed, inverted and reattached to redispense the correction ribbon for reuse as many times as permitted by its effectiveness.

  • Patent number: 4684272
Abstract: A spool for a reversible-type correction tape assembly, in which an improved fastening means is provided between the cap and the spool shaft. The spool shaft is designed to hold a ribbon-winding core so that the winding core is slideable in an axial direction of the spool shaft but is not rotatable relative to the shaft. The cap is detachably mounted on the top portion of the spool shaft so that the winding core does not slip off of the spool shaft. The spool shaft is provided with a male thread on a peripheral portion which is an extension above the winding core when the latter is engaged on the spool shaft.

  • Patent number: 4518128
Abstract: A correction tape take-up spool assembly for typewriter comprising a spool member provided with a rotating means for winding up a correction tape; a bobbin member on which the correction tape is wound up and which is capable to serve as a correction tape feed bobbin, the bobbin member being detachably received outwardly on the bobbin receiving portion of the spool member; and a means for preventing a relative rotation between the spool member and the bobbin member; and the bobbin member being received on the bobbin receiving portion in such a manner that the position of the bobbin member is reverse to the position in case that the bobbin member is used as a correction tape feed bobbin. The correction tape can be reused by detaching the bobbin member on which the correction tape used is wound from the spool member, and using the bobbin member with the correction tape as a tape feed bobbin and setting another empty bobbin member on the spool member.
