Patent number: 7301267Abstract: In a shadow mask 1 of pressing type, a large number of slots are made in a mask body in the horizontal direction and in the vertical direction. Each slot has a roughly rectangular backside opening, a roughly rectangular front-side opening, and a through-hole that connects these two openings. Between each slot of the multiple slots made in the mask body that is situated at least on either of the two diagonal axes of the mask body but in such a position that the angle at which electron beams enter the slot is 20 degrees or more and another slot that is arranged adjacently to the above slot in the vertical direction, a connecting part connecting the peripheral-side vertical outer edges of the front-side openings of these slots is provided so that it runs through a horizontal bridge part formed between the front-side openings of the slots.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 2005Date of Patent: November 27, 2007Assignee: DAI Nippon Printing Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hirofumi Hideshima, Toshihiro Hatori

Patent number: 7098583Abstract: A slot tension-type shadow mask for the cathode-ray tube (CRT) has slots. Each slot has two openings and a pseudo-bridge between the two opening of the slot. The slots are formed in the X-Y plane that is formed away from the electron gun in the Z-axis. Each pseudo bridge has a pair of protuberances separated by a lacuna. The edges of each protuberance is etched to have various surface profiles in the X, Y, Z directions and/or the shape of the lacuna is also varied to provide effective shielding while overcoming various problems associated with heating and image imperfections appearing on the CRT screen.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2001Date of Patent: August 29, 2006Assignee: Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hirofumi Hideshima, Toshihiro Hatori, Akira Makita

Publication number: 20060125371Abstract: In a shadow mask 1 of pressing type, a large number of slots 2 are made in a mask body 1a in the horizontal direction X and in the vertical direction Y. Each slot 2 has a roughly rectangular backside opening 33, a roughly rectangular front-side opening 32, and a through-hole 31 that connects these two openings 33, 32. Between each slot 2d, of the multiple slots 2 made in the mask body 1a, that is situated at least on either of the two diagonal axes 5 of the mask body 1a but in such a position that the angle at which electron beams 7 enter the slot 2d is 20 degrees or more and another slot that is arranged adjacently to the above slot 2d in the vertical direction, a connecting part 23 connecting the peripheral-side vertical outer edges 22a, 22b of the front-side openings 32 of these slots 2d is provided so that it runs through a horizontal bridge part 24 formed between the front-side openings 32 of the slots 2d.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 13, 2005Publication date: June 15, 2006Applicant: DAI NIPPON PRINTING CO., LTD.Inventors: Hirofumi Hideshima, Toshihiro Hatori

Patent number: 6722938Abstract: A shadow mask is formed from a plate member comprising an outer frame portion, a body portion of a shadow mask having an outer peripheral line formed through an etching process and a plurality of connection portions through which the body portion of the shadow mask is supported by the outer frame portion. The shadow mask is formed from the plate member by removing the outer frame portion from the body portion of the shadow mask. In this process, a break portion is formed to the shadow mask by removing the outer frame portion so as to be recessed inward from the outer peripheral line of the shadow mask.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2000Date of Patent: April 20, 2004Assignee: Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takayasu Komatsu, Hiromitsu Ochiai, Akira Makita, Hirofumi Hideshima, Takuya Ogio, Toshimu Watanabe

Publication number: 20040027044Abstract: A slot tension-type shadow mask for the cathode-ray tube, slots of which are provided with a pseudo-bridge, and the pseudo-bridge is provided with the deviation in the Y-axis direction, is disclosed. The deviation in the Y-axis direction means the condition that, in the relation between the width of the etching part at the mask outer peripheral edge part side (outside etching part) in the Y-axis direction and the width of the etching part at the mask center part side (inside etching part) in Y-axis direction on the surface facing to a screen (being opposite in direction to an electron gun) , the inside etching part is longer than the outside etching part. The outside etching part means a part between an endmost point a of the protuberance at the mask outer peripheral side in the Y-axis direction and a surface edge point b of the protuberance at the outer peripheral side in the Y-axis direction on the surface facing to the screen.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2003Publication date: February 12, 2004Inventors: Hirofumi Hideshima, Toshihiro Hatori, Akira Makita
