  • Patent number: 4773782
Abstract: A sheet material transferring apparatus of the type including a transferring roller about which the sheet material is wound, a sheet guiding member and a sheet retainer. The sheet guiding member is formed with a plurality of openings through which pinch rollers are projected inwardly. When it is turned in the one direction by actuating a lever, it assumes an operative position where the pinch rollers and the sheet retainer are brought in pressure contact with the circumferential surface of the sheet guiding member while the spaced relation between the sheet guiding member and the transferring member is maintained whereby the sheet material is transferred along the circumferential surface of the transferring roller.

  • Patent number: 4728205
Abstract: An impact type dot head for forming a character, symbol or the like by a dot matrix comprises: four printing wires arranged in a line in a wire holder; a guide member to guide the wires in parallel; four drive units each for pushing the rear edge of the wire in its axial direction and allowing the front edge of this wire to be projected to the printing position; and a foredamper consisting of a silicone rubber serving as a vibration damping material attached to the holder along its side surface. The drive unit includes an armature to clap the rear edge of the wire and an electromagnetic member to attract the armature. Each printing wire comprises a long thin-diameter portion on the front edge side, a short thick-diameter portion near the rear edge side and an intermediate taper portion connecting them.

  • Patent number: 4707159
Abstract: A printer for performing recording successively while a recording head moves backwards and forwards in a predetermined direction with respect to a recording medium such as paper. A paper hold roller for pressing the recording medium against a platen in the vicinity of a recording area opposite to a print head is detachable from the platen in relation to the movement of a carriage for carrying the recording head. The presence and absence of paper is detected to control the paper feed. An ink ribbon is provided which has color zones and an ink absorption zone in the direction of the ribbon width for multi-color printing by shifting the ribbon in the width direction by means of the carriage movement so that a selected color zone faces the recording head. The printer further includes a ribbon cassette, means for controlling paper insertion and feeding and means for cleaning the recording head. Also included are a paper bail control, color zone selector and paper detector.

  • Patent number: 4504159
Abstract: A printer having a plurality of type belts and capable of printing in two colors by a rolling contact system is disclosed. The printer prevent mixing of colors of printed characters by lifting up and down a print paper for printing the characters at different positions on a platen by the different color type belts.

  • Patent number: 4484520
Abstract: In a compact printer provided with a type wheel having a type belt wound on a cylindrically formed base, a hammer mechanism contained within the type wheel, and a DC motor for operating the type wheel and a paper feed mechanism, the rotational force from the DC motor is transmitted to the type wheel through a spring clutch mechanism and a code plate for generating a timing signal is provided on the side surface of the type wheel so that a solenoid for controlling the spring clutch mechanism is driven by the timing signal.

  • Patent number: 4443123
Abstract: A serial printer has a type drum rotating about a rotation axis perpendicular to the direction of the line of a paper and a carriage for carrying said type drum in the direction of the line. The carriage has a type drum comprising a base member and type belts disposed round said base member at different levels, and a hammer rotatably supported on said carriage. One end of said hammer is led into the interior of said drum and disposed opposed to the type part of said type drum. Another end of said hammer is in the exterior and disposed to contact with a cam. When said another end comes into contact with said cam, said hammer is rotated by said cam whereby a type on said type belts is pushed out against the paper by said one end of said hammer to effect printing.

  • Patent number: 4401027
Abstract: A printing mechanism is disclosed which has a cylindrical type wheel rotatably supported on a driving shaft and carrying a plural number of types arranged on it circumferential surface at regular angular intervals and protruding from the surface. For effecting printing, one of the types is selected and the selected type is struck against a recording medium making use of a energy of rotation. The present invention is directed to improvement in such type of printer. The improvement comprises an elastic member through which the type wheel is supported on the driving shaft. The elastic member is fixed to the driving shaft. The type wheel is disposed concentrically with the driving shaft and spaced from a platen by a determined distance. The elastic member is engaged with projections formed on the inner circumferential surface of the type wheel so as to transmit rotation of the driving shaft to the wheel.
