  • Patent number: 6570082
Abstract: Tone color selecting space is provided, where tone color data are allocated to addressable locations in association with tone color selection information in accordance with a predetermined tone color standard. Into the tone color selecting space can be loaded not only tone color data compliant with the predetermined tone color standard, but also other tone color data, such as those of a standard different from the predetermined tone color standard, loadable externally from an external source. In the tone color selecting space, a dedicated area is set for allocating the externally loaded tone color data. Thus, the externally loaded tone color data can be allocated to the dedicated area and selected in response to tone color selection information designating the dedicated area.

  • Patent number: 6025552
Abstract: A computerized music apparatus is installed with a program which is executed to perform reproduction of a musical tone by reading out a corresponding waveform. A storage is provided for storing a plurality of waveforms corresponding to different musical tones, each waveform being stored in the form of a sequence of amplitude value data arranged at a given sampling period. Tapping pads are provided for designating at least one of the stored waveforms to command reproduction of a corresponding one of the musical tones. A panel switch is operable by a user for switching the reproduction of the musical tone between a normal mode and an optional mode. A CPU is allotted with relatively high performance under the normal mode for concurrently reading out a number of the designated waveforms from the storage according to the program so as to concurrently reproduce the number of the corresponding musical tones.

  • Patent number: 5308915
Abstract: An electronic musical instrument utilizing neural nets comprises parameter input device for inputting a parameter and a neural net device for calculating the parameter. The neural net device is in advance learning therefore, any input parameter results in proper output by interpolation. The instrument further comprises a weighting data memory, the weighting data being provided to the neural net device. The output of the neural net device is interpreted by an interpreter using interpretation knowledge stored in a memory, thereby the output of the neural net device being changed to musical values. Further, the musical values are modified by an output modifier using modification knowledge stored in another memory so as to be accepted musically. The weighting data, the interpretation knowledge and the modification knowledge can be selected by use of selectors, thus use of the selectors expands musical variation.

  • Patent number: 5261087
Abstract: A musical information retrieval system, for providing pieces of musical information to a user, is equipped with a relative difference analyzer for improvement of an average access time period even if the user is not familiar with an electronic processing system, and the relative difference analyzer comprises an input unit for providing a key word representative of a piece of identifying information indicative of an attribute of a musical composition, a data file including a plurality of books respectively having index records for storing respective pieces of musical attributive catalog information and detail data records for storing respective pieces of detailed musical data information associated with the pieces of detailed musical data information, respectively, an analyzer for searching the index records for candidates each partially identical with the piece of identifying information but partially different from the piece of identifying information, and a displaying unit for indicating the relative differ

  • Patent number: 5227574
Abstract: When a tap switch is operated at desired beats during automatic music play, the tempo of the automatic play is variably controlled in correspondence with the interval between the tap operations. On the other hand, detection is made of a difference between the current score time at a tap switch operation time and the score time of a beat point corresponding to the tap switch operation time. Then, control is made for progressively changing the current score time in order to eliminate the detected score time difference. Thus, the score time difference is progressively eliminated in smooth manner, so that necessary notes can be sequentially sounded without being left out. The control for progressively changing the current score time may be performed in accordance with a predetermined function. Further, the control for progressively changing the current score time may be performed with a characteristic such that it is automatically changed in view of the number of notes in the automatic play.

  • Patent number: 5220120
Abstract: An automatic play device generates a tempo signal at a frequency corresponding to a tempo setting value. When a tempo setting value is changed, the device changes the frequency of the tempo signal gradually from one frequency corresponding to the tempo setting value prior to the change to another frequency corresponding to a target tempo setting value posterior to the change, so that a smooth tempo change can be realized. It is also possible to automatically adjust the tempo in correspondence to a time interval between on-events of a tap switch, in which case the automatic play is controlled so as to stop when on-state of the tap switch continues for more than a predetermined time.
