    Abstract: An outer retainer includes a pair of annular portions facing each other in an axial direction and a plurality of column members connecting the annular portions. A plurality of window portions is formed by the annular portions and the column members, and an outward flange is provided at one side end thereof. The column member between window portions in predetermined positions is cut and the cut portion on the outward flange side is bent radially outward to be an elastic member. Paired cut-away portions are formed in predetermined portions of the outward flange with the elastic member disposed between the paired cut-away portions. In the thus-configured outer retainer, at least three window portions are disposed between the elastic member and the cut-away portion adjacent to the elastic member in the peripheral direction. Column members between paired cut-away portions are bent outward in the radial direction to be enlarged in diameter.

    Abstract: In a one-way clutch, an inner diameter-side retainer is formed with a radially inward flange while an outer diameter-side retainer is formed with a radially outward flange. The inner race has a portion radially outwardly extended from one end in the axial direction to the more outer diameter side than the outer race. The outer race has a portion radially inwardly extended from one end on the axially opposite side to that of the inner race to the more inner diameter side than the inner race. Those extended portions face each other in the axial direction with the torque transmitting members therebetween. The inner diameter-side retainer engages the inner race on the side of the extended portion of the inner race at the inner periphery of the inward flange, and the outer diameter-side retainer engages the outer race on the side of the extended portion of the outer race at the outer periphery of the outward flange.

The rolling surface of each of the rollers has a recess depressed toward the axis thereof over the entire circumference thereof. In an alternative arrangement, an axially extending annular inner peripheral raceway surface is provided on the outer ring and an annular outer peripheral cam surface is provided on the inner ring.

The ring-shaped leaf spring has plural tabs on an inner peripheral edge portion thereof and is fixed by spring forces of the tabs immovably in the direction of an axis of the outer ring. The stepped outer peripheral portion of the outer ring preferably defines a circumferential slot therein and the tabs of the ring-shaped leaf spring are fitted in the circumferential slot, whereby any axial movement of the ring-shaped leaf spring is limited.

The spring member is in engagement at a part thereof with a part of the side plate so that any radial movement of the spring member is limited by the part of the side plate.
