    Abstract: A method for producing polyolefin resins granules are disclosed, which comprises extruding by using a homodirectional (co-rotating) twin-screw kneading extruder a polyolefin resin from a die nozzle having a diameter of less than 2 mm and a discharge amount per hole of 0.5-8 Kg/hr into warm water of 5-90.degree. C. which is lower than a temperature of the resin by 140-220.degree. C., and cutting the extrudate with a cutter blade in the warm water. According to this invention, uniformly dispersed compounds are obtained, and switching of a raw resin can be done speedily and economically, and further, resin granules of a desired shape can be produced.

    Abstract: A document feeding apparatus having both an automatic and manual feed mode. the apparatus includes a paper feeding belt for feeding documents from a stack set on a document stacker, wherein the lowermost document in the stack is fed, and a stop roller placed in contact with an upper surface of the paper feeding belt to prevent the overlapped feed of documents. Documents are fed through a common paper path in both modes. The belt and roller are commonly used in both the automatic and manual document feed modes. In the automatic document feed mode, the belt is driven while the roller is held in a non-rotational state. In the manual document feed mode, the belt is driven and the roller is driven by the belt.

    Abstract: A recording apparatus includes an electrostatic image support and a fixing device. The toner image formed on the electrostatic image support is transferred onto a copy paper, and the copy paper is separated from the surface of the electrostatic image support and then fed to the fixing device to fuse the toner image, for example by heat. A device is provided for distinguishing the relation in the length between the distance (A) from the separating position at which the copy paper is separated from the electrostatic image support to the fixing position of the fixing device, and the length (B) of the copy paper in the transport direction. A control device controls the relative circumferential speeds of the electrostatic image support and the copy paper transport apparatus provided inside the fixing device as a function of the distinguished relation between said lengths (A) and (B).

    Abstract: The slit exposure optical system for a copying machine generally includes two mirror-carrying movable tables of which one is driven at half the speed of the other. Normally each table is driven from one and the same end which means that the other end of each table must follow. If such following is not precise, aberrations in the optical system result. The present invention provides means for interconnecting the nondriver ends of the tables in such a manner that the movement of the nondriver ends will precisely follow the movement of the driver ends and aberrations are thereby avoided.

    Abstract: In the optical system of an electrophotographic copying apparatus embodying movable mirrors, it is of the utmost importance that these mirrors be properly aligned relatively to one another. In the present invention, two of the mirrors mounted at right angles to one another on a slidable frame which moves at half the speed of another movable mirror, are mounted on that frame for slight pivotal movement. This pivotal movement is controllable to provide adjustment of errors in the optical system and when adjustment is completed the mirrors are fixed in place.
