  • Patent number: 8341844
Abstract: With respect to an outer ring 2b in which a diameter DB1 of a first outer ring raceway 10c is greater than a diameter DB2 of a second outer ring raceway 10b (DB1>DB2), a method is realized which facilitates the entry of a grinding tool 12 into an inner side of the outer ring when these both outer ring raceways 10c and 10b are subjected to a grinding process. The grinding tool 12 is made to enter the inner side of the outer ring 2b through an opening on a side close to the first outer ring raceway 10c.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 24, 2007
Date of Patent: January 1, 2013
    Assignee: NSK Ltd.
Inventors: Shigemi Tsukamoto, Katsuyuki Kawamura, Hirohide Ishida, Tatsuo Wakabayashi
  • Patent number: 7959358
Abstract: A sensor for detecting a speed of rotation is an active sensor, a sensing portion 35 of the sensor directly faces the magnetic encoder 10 without interposition between it and the encoder 10, and a harness 34 (or connector) of the sensor 30 for detecting the speed of rotation is taken out of a gap between a knuckle N and a constant velocity universal joint 9.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 1, 2004
Date of Patent: June 14, 2011
    Assignee: NSK Ltd.

As shown in (A) to (B), the grinding tool 12 is made to enter the inner side of the outer ring 2b through an opening on a side close to the first outer ring raceway 10c between the openings at both ends of this outer ring 2b. This resolves the above-described problem.

  • Patent number: 6928737
Abstract: A cylindrical portion 10 is not quenched, and its hardness of a cylindrical portion 10 is set at Hv200 to 300. An average cross sectional area of the crystal particle in this portion is set to be within 0.03 mm2. Accordingly, when a caulking portion is formed by expanding the cylindrical portion 10b to an inner ring 3 to a hub 2b made of carbon steel, cracks or the like are not formed in the resultant caulking portion.
