  • Patent number: 6728405
Abstract: An image input section 1 obtains a halftone image IG of a to-be-measured particle group. A binarization section 2 binarizes the halftone image IT to obtain a binary image IB. A distance transform section 3 performs distance transform for the binary image IB to obtain a distance-transformed image ID. In this case, the particle nucleus extraction section 4 obtains particle nucleus candidates from the distance-transformed image ID and extracts a particle nucleus on the basis of the distance between the particle nucleus candidates and a separation parameter PS to obtain a particle nucleus image IC. A particle expansion section 5 performs particle expansion processing for the particle nucleus image IC and distance-transformed image ID to obtain a particle-separated image IS. In this case, the particle expansion section 5 performs particle expansion processing for the particle nucleus in the particle nucleus image IC along the value of distance transform to obtain the particle-separated image IS.

  • Patent number: 6281814
Abstract: A peak detecting section 121 detects the maximum values (peaks) of frequency distributions, at intervals of unit times, from the wavelet intensity signal output from an intensity computing section 113. More specifically, giving attention to frequency distributions of the wavelet intensity signal as the transform result obtained by a signal converting section 110 at predetermined time intervals, the peak detecting section 121 detects the peaks (maximum values) of the frequency intensity distributions at intervals of unit times (predetermined time intervals). Changes in various frequency features over time which are contained in the time-series signal obtained by a wavelet transform of the time-series signal can be quantitatively grasped more accurately.

  • Patent number: 5821882
Abstract: According to a data conversion method and apparatus, an original signal is wavelet-transformed with a desired expansion count to generate transformed data. The transformed data is corrected such that a difference between the original signal and a value obtained by inversely wavelet-transforming the transformed data falls within a desired tolerance range, thereby generating the corrected transformed data as compressed data in which the original signal is compressed.

  • Patent number: 5297149
Abstract: A fault detection/alarm system includes an oscillator at one end of a signal cable whose clock output is OR'ed with a fault detection signal. A receiving unit receives the OR'ed signal and detects the leading edge of the clock. If the clock signal disappears due to breakage of the signal cable, the appearance of a fault detection signal or other reason, the leading edges are no longer detected, causing the raising of a fault signal which may be an emergency stop signal for the receiving unit.

  • Patent number: 5268898
Abstract: An information transmission system for a numerical control (NC) system having a servo mechanism with plural units, wherein the NC issues commands for processing by corresponding servo units and the servo units issue status information for monitoring and display by the NC. A plurality of serial data transmission paths are provided between the NC unit and servo amplifiers and the transmission paths are different in communication cycle in order to allow rapid-response control for large volumes of information transmitted. In particular, the invention also can be applied to a transmission loop in a programmable controller (PC).

  • Patent number: 5210476
Abstract: The invention relates to a monitor system for a servo controller used in connection with servo motors utilized in multivarious machines, such as machine tools. In addition to detecting a servo system fault when the difference between the commanded position and the actual position exceeds a predetermined value, the system monitors several servo system parameters to distinguish between different causes of servo faults. Identifying the source of the fault leads to improved maintenance and decreased system down time when a fault occurs.
