    Abstract: An adaptor for using a mini-sized memory card in an appliance having a slot for a regular-sized memory card is provided. This adaptor is formed with a base and a cover made of a resin material, a plurality of electrically conductive members fixed to the base so as to electrically contact a plurality of I/O terminals of the memory card in the adapter, and a metal shell held between the base and the cover. A memory-card storage room is provided by a space surrounded by the metal shell and the base. By use of the metal shell, it is possible to improve rigidity of the adaptor, obtain a reliable compatibility, and prevent that the thin, mini-sized memory card is damaged.

    Abstract: In a connector for memory card, it is objected to stabilize contact of detection switch for detecting insertion of a memory card, and to prevent breakage of the memory card due to bounce-out when it is taken out. The detection switch is held on a contact block with contacts which are to be contacted with terminals of the memory card, and comprised of a fixed contact plate and a movable spring piece. A groove having substantially V-shape is formed on a contacting portion of the movable spring piece so as to contact with the fixed contact plate at two points. Furthermore, elastic protrusions that can fit to recessed portions for locking formed on the memory card just before the slider holding the memory card reaches to an initial position is formed on a top plate of the housing, so that the bounce-out of the memory card is prevented.

    Abstract: In a connector for memory card used in a mobile equipment, a locking mechanism of a memory card at a card lock position is integrally provided with a push-on/push-off mechanism constituted by a heart-shaped cam and a cam pin, so that the connector can be downsized. A heart-shaped cam groove unit is provided on a contact block fixed on a housing, and an end of a locking member is rotatably borne on a slider which can reciprocally be moved in an inside of the housing. The cam pin is provided on the other end of the locking member, and the cam pin is moved along the heart-shaped cam groove corresponding to reciprocal movement of the slider. Furthermore, a locking protrusion is provided on the locking member for protruding toward the memory card. The heart-shaped cam groove is formed in a manner so that not only the movement of the slider is locked but also the locking protrusion engages with a recess used to be locked provided on the memory card at a card lock position.

A slider is configured to move forward and backward in the housing to correspond to the insertion and withdrawal of the memory card. The slider is pressed by pressing forces of a pair of coil springs so that the movement of the slider is smooth.
