  • Patent number: 7886365
Abstract: In a content-log analyzing system, content includes additional information indicating, according to a property of the content, whether or not to record communication of the content in a content-log. When transmitting content to a TV or a PC, a data-communication controlling device judges whether or not to record the communication in a content-log based upon additional information of the content, and when judging affirmatively, generates and stores content-log information. A content-log analyzing server obtains the content-log stored in the data-communication controlling device, and analyzes the obtained content-log.

  • Publication number: 20090138370
Abstract: Upon receipt of a replay request for a content to be replayed from a video replay apparatus, a content replay control system searches a content information storage for billing information corresponding to a content ID included in the replay request, searches a user information storage for a URL corresponding to a video replay apparatus ID included in the replay request, associates the retrieved billing information with the retrieved URL, and stores the associated information. The content replay control system maintains the connection with the video replay apparatus. Upon acceptance of the request for access to a URL from a portable terminal, the content replay control system reads the billing information stored in association with the URL and transmits the read billing information to the portable terminal.

  • Patent number: 7299275
Abstract: The present invention achieves maintenance of service quality and efficient operation of a system by dynamically and optimally relocating contents in each of an archive server, edge servers, and terminal storage devices. To achieve the object, the present invention provides a contents delivery system in which a CDN (contents delivery network) having plural edge servers intervenes between a center device managing an archive server storing contents and user terminals having large-capacity storage devices, wherein the center device includes: a viewing results collection part; a viewing results analysis part; a contents allocation part for relocating contents to each of the archive server, relay servers, and user terminals, based on an analyzed viewing tendency; a portal creation part for automatically creating a portal after the relocation; and a price decision part for automatically deciding contents prices after the relocation.

  • Patent number: 7296147
Abstract: In an authentication system, a key registration apparatus receives input of an identifier unique to a second device, generates first key data from the identifier according to a predetermined key generation algorithm, and transmits the generated first key data to a first device, which receives and stores the first key data, and authenticates the second device with use of the first key data. The second device stores in advance second key data generated from the identifier according to the predetermined key generation algorithm, and is authenticated by the first device with use of the second key data. Accordingly, the first and second devices cannot be registered without using the key registration apparatus, thereby preventing communication with unregistered devices. This enables usage of content to be limited to individual usage in the home of a user, and can be realized even with devices that are not connected outside the home.

  • Publication number: 20040046897
Abstract: The receiving device is equipped with two or more receivers or tuners, and the changing of a channel for one receiving device is freely entrusted to users. At the same time, users cannot change a channel for another receiving device in principle, and a party transmitting data such as a program can control it. Additionally, the data received by another receiver can be automatically stored, and the data to control each type of the receiving device itself or advertisement for company can be stored and utilized from time to time.

  • Publication number: 20040015730
Abstract: It is unknown what information terminals and how many information terminals are connected to one contracted information terminal. Accordingly, contents licensed to use by only family members of one household may be used by other persons. In view of such a situation, it is necessary to create secure environments. The present invention manages subterminals registered in all main terminals in a subterminal management part of a host device, and confirms validity of registration and deregistration by contract-time personal authentication information managed in a main terminal contract management part. Thereby, contents can be delivered only to reliable home networks.

  • Publication number: 20040010687
Abstract: In a content distributing system 1, content includes additional information relating to its use, according to characteristics of the content. A data-communication controlling device 40 generates a judgment table associating additional information and a device ID of a client device to which content having the additional information is permitted to be transmitted, and stores the generated judgment table. Upon receipt of a content request including a device ID from a client device, the data-communication controlling device 40 receives content from the broadcast receiving device 10, and judges whether the content is permitted to be transmitted to the client device, using a judgment table corresponding to additional information included in the received content. When judging that the content is not permitted to be transmitted, the data-communication controlling device 40 prohibits transmission of the content.
