  • Patent number: 6901966
Abstract: A seal device is constituted of a plurality of seal tubes. After a connected-tube body having base members disposed at a fore end and a rear end is inserted into a fluid passage such as a tubular member, the seal tubes are expanded by injecting gaseous nitrogen into each of the seal tubes. The intermediate portions of the seal tubes along a longitudinal direction are press-fitted to the inner surface of the fluid passage over the entire circumference thereof, whereby the fluid passage is sealed. Since the connected-tube body is easily bent in the vicinity of a connecting base member between the tubes, the connected-tube body can be easily curved along the fluid passage, thus facilitating an operation for inserting the connected-tube body into the fluid passage and also enhancing a sealing property with respect to the fluid passage.

  • Patent number: 6673318
Abstract: A pipette has a tip having at the front end thereof an inlet/outlet hole through which a liquid is sucked up and delivered. The pipette is fitted at an opening formed therein with an air passage through which air is sucked out from inside the pipette tip or supplied into the pipette tip. The pipette includes an inflatable member secured to the pipette body and which can be inflated with a fluid charged therein. The pipette body has formed therein separately from the air passage a fluid passage through which a fluid is charged and discharged. The inflatable member when charged with the fluid through the fluid passage in the pipette body and thus inflated closely adheres to the inner wall or outer surface of the top end portion of the pipette tip where the opening is formed, to thereby securely catch the pipette tip.

  • Patent number: 6173987
Abstract: The invention provides an air bag apparatus which is simple in structure and light in weight while assuring a sufficient strength and wherein a pad cover can be mounted readily onto a base plate by a simplified mounting apparatus. The air bag apparatus has at least an air bag for protecting a driver of a vehicle upon collision of the vehicle, a base plate for mounting thereon a gas generator for inflating the air bag, and a pad cover secured to the base plate for accommodating the air bag and the gas inflator therein. A portion of the base plate is deformed into a predetermined shape to secure the pad cover to the base plate. Preferably, a portion of the base plate is bent to form a side inner face portion and is further folded back to form a side outer face portion, and a terminal portion of the pad cover is held between and secured by the side outer face portion and the side inner face portion of the base plate.
