  • Patent number: 6245463
Abstract: The present invention provides a substrate for a secondary battery electrode having excellent bonding strength of a sintered porous metal to a ground metal plate so that the sintered porous metal does not peel off from the ground metal plate when the substrate for a secondary battery electrode is rolled up and fixed into a cylindrical battery. For this purpose, a layer of metal having a melting point lower than that of the ground plate is formed at least on one side of the ground plate, and a porous layer is formed by forming a layer of powdered metal having a melting point higher than that of the layer of metal on the layer of metal and sintering the powdered metal at a temperature not less than the melting temperature of the layer of metal and not more than those of the ground plate and the powdered metal.
