  • Patent number: 6038763
Abstract: An apparatus for automatically connecting prepared wires to a connector (plug or socket) is described. The prepared wires have a terminal on at least one end. A connector holder is provided for holding the connector in position. A chuck is provided for taking a prepared wire from a storage case. The wire is transferred to a rotator for correcting the rotational angle of the wire and its associated terminal. The wire is gripped by another chuck, which inserts it into the connector.

  • Patent number: 5479701
Abstract: A cover at an end portion of a covered wire is incised by upper and lower cutting blades. The covered wire and the cutting blades are moved relatively in the longitudinal direction of the covered wire to thereby start the cover stripping operation at an end portion of the cover on the core. Thereafter, during this relative movement, the depth of incising the cover by the cutting blades is reduced step by step within a range where blade portions of the cutting blades can catch the cover. Even in the case where the cover of a covered wire is thin, it is made possible not only to strip the cover surely, but also to prevent a core from being injured.

  • Patent number: 4827592
Abstract: An automatic covered wire cutting and stripping method and an apparatus used for the method. The method comprises the steps of transferring a covered wire by a transfer mechanism toward a cutting mechanism disposed opposite to the transfer mechanism so as to protrude the covered wire from the cutting mechanism by a specified length in the direction away from the transfer mechanism, cutting a cover of the covered wire by the cutting mechanism to prepare the specified length of a cover part to be stripped, transferring the covered wire toward the transfer mechanism, gripping the cover part to be stripped off the covered wire by a grip mechanism, and transferring the covered wire toward the transfer mechanism such that the cover part to be stripped off the covered wire is gripped by the grip mechanism thereby stripping the specified length of the cover from the covered wire.

  • Patent number: 4802512
Abstract: The present invention relates to an automatic covered wire cutting and decorticating apparatus and process for moving forward the covered wire by a specified length to a side unopposed to a sending mechanism of a cutting mechanism provided at a position opposite the sending mechanism. A pair of rollers of the sending mechanism moves the covered wire and a cover of the covered wire is cut by the cutting mechanism. The apparatus further processes the wire by pulling the covered wire to the sending mechanism and decorticating the cover of covered wire by rotating both the rollers of the sending mechanism and a process for twisting an exposed core wire by relatively moving both the rollers of the sending mechanism in the direction of axial center in synchronization with the process for decorticating the cover of the covered wire.
