The upper bracket has a first through-hole extending through the upper bracket in the axial direction. The upper bracket is provided with a guide rail 7 that has a fixed portion and a body portion. The fixed portion is fixed to a mounting stay. The body portion extends from the fixed portion toward the front of a vehicle in the axial direction, and is inserted in the first through-hole.

Abstract: A vehicle steering apparatus that is constructed so that it inhibits operation of a motor that adjusts the position of a steering wheel while a vehicle is moving, and releases the inhibition of the operation of that motor when the steering wheel is not being turned. This makes it impossible to adjust the position of the steering wheel while the vehicle is turning, and thus maintains safety. On the other hand, it is possible to adjust the position of the steering wheel while the vehicle is moving straight, so convenience for the operator is improved.
