  • Patent number: 7695177
Abstract: An optical device guides illuminating light from a light source and includes a light-guiding unit including an incidence face which the illuminating light from the light source is incident upon, an emission face which emits the illuminating light and has a larger area than the incidence face, and a reflection face which guides rays of the illuminating light which are incident from the incidence face to the emission face, and a holder which secures the light-guiding unit in position with the light source. The light-guiding unit and the holder are connected together on the emission face side of the light-guiding unit.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 7470051
Abstract: An optical device guides illuminating light from a light source and includes a columnar light-guiding unit having an incidence face which the illuminating light from the light source is incident upon, an emission face which emits the illuminating light and has a larger area than the incidence face, and reflection faces which guide rays of the illuminating light which is incident from the incidence face to the emission face while bringing the rays to total internal reflection, and holders which secure the columnar light-guiding unit in position with respect to the light source, in which the columnar light-guiding unit and the holders are connected together in a single piece only on the reflection faces on the emission face side of the columnar light-guiding unit.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 7431480
Abstract: An optical element of the present invention includes: a primary surface-1 whereon diffuse illuminating light radiated by a light source device is incident; a primary surface-2 formed in a concave cross-sectional shape when viewed from the primary surface-1, which reflects only illuminating light incident from the primary surface-1; a primary surface-3 formed in a convex cross-sectional shape when viewed from the primary surface-1, which reflects only diffuse illuminating light radiated by the light source device; and a primary surface-4 which radiates illuminating light incident from the primary surface-1 and illuminating light reflected by the primary surface-2. The primary surfaces-1 through -4 are located at positions such that the light beams reflected by the primary surface-2 and the light beams reflected by the primary surface-3 are substantially parallel.

  • Publication number: 20070171384
Abstract: When guiding diffused light to an optical member that has optical surfaces parallel to the optical axis, illumination unevenness is efficiently uniformized at the light emitting surface without an overall increase in length. There is provided a light guiding member, wherein a plurality of tapered rod sections which abut along a central axis direction passing substantially through the centers of an incident end disposed on a light source side and an emitting end disposed on an optical member side are provided between the incident end and the emitting end, and each tapered rod section is shaped to widen gradually from the incident end side towards the emitting end side at a constant taper angle, and a taper angle of each tapered rod section is set smaller than a taper angle of the adjacent tapered rod section on the incident end side.
