  • Patent number: 5854142
Abstract: A harness frame of light weight manufactured from a laminated plate material is disclosed. The laminated plate material comprises (a) a composite material layer comprising a resin matrix and a reinforcing layer formed of reinforcing fibers and (b) metallic layers superposed one each on the opposite surfaces of the composite material layer. In a preferred mode, resin sheets and reinforcing layers of reinforcing fibers are alternately superposed, two metallic layers are set in place one each on the vertically opposite surfaces of the superposed layers, and the layers are heated and compressed with a pressing machine to induce thermal welding of the component layers. The laminated plate material has the metallic layers superposed with high adhesive strength on the opposite surfaces of a composite material layer having a plurality of reinforcing layers embedded in a resin matrix.

  • Patent number: 5667857
Abstract: The present invention provides a molding sheet material having a sandwich structure produced by preparing a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin layer (A) reinforced with a woven fabric or a knitted web and a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin layer (B) reinforced with a random mat and using the layer (A) as a core layer and the layer (B) as a skin layer, or using the layer (B) as a core layer and the layer (A) as a skin layer. When this sheet material is molded into a three-dimensional structure, the layer (B) serves as a cushion to prevent the occurrence of a wrinkle or a crease in the layer (A). A toe puff for a safety shoe having a light weight and excellent pressing resistance can be prepared through the molding of this sheet material. In the sheet materials, the core layer or the skin layer consisting of a thermoplastic resin reinforced with a woven fabric or a knitted web of a reinforcing fiber may be prepared from a woven fabric or a knitted web of a reinforcing fiber alone.

  • Patent number: 5308679
Abstract: A raveling-preventing agent for a glass fiber woven fabric, which contains as essential components a reaction product from an epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent of 150 to 1,000 and a molecular weight of 500 to 2,000 and a hydroxyl group-containing amine compound, and an isocyanate curing agent. The raveling-preventing agent firmly binds glass fibers together and prevents the raveling of edge-forming warp yarns when applied to sectioned marginal portions of a glass fiber woven fabric. Further it is free from swelling in a solvent used in a thermosetting resin varnish.
