  • Patent number: 7117317
Abstract: A storage apparatus and method may store received data streams that each have data blocks distributed over a plurality of transmission frames. Adjacent memory addresses are allocated to store the data streams. For each data stream, a set of adjacent allocated memory addresses is assigned to store the corresponding data blocks such that sets having adjacent memory addresses are assigned to the data streams in an order of the data streams defined by a descending number of frames containing a data block of the respective data stream. Data of each received data block are stored at the assigned memory addresses of the storage component as each data block is received. The set of memory addresses assigned to each data stream are de-allocated, after the stored data stream is retrieved, such that the sets of memory addresses are de-allocated in the reverse order they were assigned to the data streams.

  • Patent number: 6988233
Abstract: A decoding apparatus and decoding method for performing iteration decoding the suitable number of iterations, and thereby securing the desired transmission quality while decreasing the processing delay. Turbo decoder 301 iterates error correcting decoding on input coded sequences. Error checker 302 decodes an error detecting code contained in a decoded result of the error correcting decoding, and checks whether or not an error remains in the decoded result in turbo decoder 301. Iteration controller 303 instructs turbo decoder 301 to continue the iteration decoding until the number of iterations in the iteration decoding is more than or equal to the constraint number of iterations and error checker 302 determines no error in the decoded result.

  • Publication number: 20040199848
Abstract: An error correction decoding apparatus and error correction decoding method which reduces a processing delay time, reduces omission errors and thereby improves transmission quality. The turbo decoder (610) receives coding sequence x, coding sequence y1 and coding sequence y2 as inputs and outputs a decoding result. Furthermore, the turbo decoder (610) performs iterative decoding according to a control signal output from the decoding control section (630). The error detector (620) receives the decoding result and performs error detection for each transport block. The decoding control section (630) decides whether or not to preform iterative decoding based on the detection result and the number of transport blocks.

  • Publication number: 20040193780
Abstract: A storage apparatus and a storage method which suppresses an increase in the storage capacity to store data even when one frame includes a plurality of data pieces and a series of data pieces is transmitted with a plurality of frames. A first data piece having the highest number of radio frames used to transmit a series of data pieces is selected and it is decided for this data piece whether the radio frame to be processed is the start frame of the series of data pieces or not (ST1200) If this radio frame is the start frame, storage areas corresponding to the series of data pieces are secured (ST1300) and the value of a pointer P indicating the starting point of a free space is incremented by a product of the number of data pieces Dk of the first data included in one frame and the number of frames Fk to transmit the series of data pieces (ST1400). For also a data piece having the second highest number of radio frames and subsequent data pieces, storage areas are secured in the like manner.
