  • Patent number: 6210643
Abstract: There is provided an ozonizer with an ozonizer element which has a columnar shaft body, a positive electrode of a platinum net plate which is fitted around an outer surface of the columnar shaft body, an ion exchange membrane fitted around the positive electrode, and a negative electrode of a metal net fitted around the ion exchange membrane. The positive electrode is intermittently wound around the columnar shaft body with a predetermined axial interval or otherwise an intermittent insulator is provided in an axial direction between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The ozonizer has a tubular passage for permitting water to flow therethrough and housing therein the ozonizer element such that an axis of the ozonizer lies in the flowing direction of the water. Further the ozonizer has a device for applying DC voltage between the positive electrode and the negative electrode so that a discharge portion and non-discharge portion are alternately located in the water flowing direction.

  • Patent number: 5882609
Abstract: An ozone production apparatus for increasing ozone generation efficiency by improving ceramic plate cooling efficiency. An ozonizer of this invention has a steel plate shaped body for use as a discharge electrode through which gas is permeable from one surface to another. This discharge electrode is faced on both sides by two ceramic plates, with a material gas flow inlet provided on one side and an ozone flow outlet on the other side. The ozonizer unit is provided with an insulated waterproof cable for applying a high voltage to the discharge electrode. This ozonizer unit is submerged inside a cooling water tank, and a high voltage, high frequency power supply unit is connected between the discharge electrode and the cooling water, with the cooling water tank as the grounded side. In this manner, since the ozonizer unit is submerged inside the cooling water tank, the cooling efficiency is improved and the ozone generation increased.

  • Patent number: 5686051
Abstract: Provided is an ozone water production apparatus capable of easily continuously obtaining ozone water having a high concentration by a water electrolytic process using a noble metal electrode which has been considered to have a low ozone generation efficiency without using a lead compound. An ozone water production apparatus in which an anode electrode and a cathode electrode to which a DC voltage is applied are put upon one surface and the other surface, respectively, of a solid electrolytic film, and water supplied to the anode electrode side is subjected to electrolysis to obtain ozone water, wherein a wire net made of noble metal having an ozone generation catalyst function is used as the anode electrode, and a lath net made of corrosion resistant metal is put upon the outer surface side of the anode electrode, the anode electrode and the lath net being sealed into a jacket having a water inlet on one end and an ozone water outlet on the other end thereof.

  • Patent number: 5564635
Abstract: According to the present invention there are provided a method and an apparatus capable of disintegrating used paper into long pulp fibers without tearing it mechanically. In the apparatus, a wall surface having an undulating section is formed on an inner side of a gas flow path, with a current of air having a velocity component parallel to the wall surface and a velocity component perpendicular to and striking against the wall surface is allowed to pass through the gas flow path. Finely cut used paper pieces are allowed to pass through the gas flow path while being carried by the air current. The parallel velocity component of the air current is set at 40 m or more. An impeller is mounted within a circular casing body having an inlet port and an outlet port, and undulating teeth are formed on the inner peripheral surface of the circular casing body. The used paper, which is sucked in from the above inlet port together with the air current, is cut beforehand into pieces.

  • Patent number: 5098671
Abstract: In construction of a contact-type ozonizer, one or more discharge electrodes are arranged substantially upright on a planar dielectric facing an electric field via magnetic attraction. Magnetic attraction provided stable and strong hold on the discharge electrodes without posing any excessive mechanical stress on the dielectric, upright arrangement of the discharge electrodes facilitates high rate of heat radiation and oxygen seizure is carried out in the most intensive zone of a magnetic field.
