  • Patent number: 7021772
Abstract: The invention provides a lens device and projector in which light passing through liquid crystal panels is projected on a screen using the lens device. The lens device includes a diaphragm mechanism. A telecentric optical system for the display device is provided between the diaphragm mechanism and the liquid crystal panels. An aperture of the diaphragm mechanism is positioned at a location where primary rays that are emitted from the liquid crystal panels parallel to an optical axis intersect with the optical axis. Contrast characteristics of the liquid crystal panels vary depending on angles and directions of incidence of rays of light. The aperture of the diaphragm mechanism is formed in a substantially triangular shape in accordance with the shape of the contrast characteristics.

  • Patent number: 6312263
Abstract: In a connector having a plurality of conductive contacts assembled to an insulator, each of the contacts has unique structure for electrically connecting a first and a second board to each other. The first board has a primary surface and a secondary surface opposed to each other. The second board has a principal surface facing the secondary surface with a space left therebetween. In the unique structure, a base portion is placed in the space and held by the insulator. A first elastic portion extends from the base portion to face a primary surface. A first contact portion is protruded from the first elastic portion to come in contact with one of electrode patterns arranged on the primary surface. A second elastic portion extends from the base portion. A second contact portion is protruded from the second elastic portion to come in contact with one of electrode patterns arranged on the principal surface.

  • Patent number: 6089876
Abstract: A connectable plate (2) is mounted on an upper surface of a horizontal portion (the uniform thickness portion) (1b) of a housing (1). A plurality of contacts (3) mounted on the housing come into contact with a pattern of the connectable plate. A clip (4) has a U-shaped cross-sectional configuration. A spacing of a resilient forked portion of the contacts (an opening width) is larger than the thickness of the connectable plate but smaller than the sum of the thickness of the connectable plate and the thickness of the uniform thickness portion. When the clip is mounted to the connectable plate and the housing, an insulating coating portion (4d) of the clip slides onto the upper surface of the connectable plate, and a connector-housing-side end portion (4b) of the clip presses against an inclined portion (1a) of the housing. Thus, the opening width of the clip becomes larger, so that the connector-housing-side end portion slides smoothly onto the lower surface of the uniform thickness portion.

  • Patent number: 5888076
Abstract: An LCD panel (45) has a plurality of terminal electrodes (45d) formed at a peripheral portion thereof. The LCD panel (45) is brought into contact with conductive contact elements (13) and fixed by fixing means (71) to be electrically connected to a circuit board (81). An insulator (11) has a first surface (11a) for mounting the peripheral portion of the LCD panel (45), and a second surface (11b) to be faced to the circuit board (11b). The contact elements (13) are fixedly mounted in the insulator (11) to be brought into contact with the terminal electrodes (45d), respectively, when the LCD panel (45) is disposed on the first surface (11a) of the insulator (11). The fixing means (71) clamps and fixedly holds the insulator (11) and the LCD panel (45) when the LCD panel (45) is disposed on the first surface (11a). The insulator (11) is combined with a header (100) to be mounted on the circuit board (81).

  • Patent number: 4884647
Abstract: A rear wheel steering hydraulic cylinder is arranged in a rear wheel steering apparatus to steer rear wheels to the right and left. When a front wheel steering angle detected by a front wheel steering angle sensor exceeds a predetermined value, the hydraulic cylinder is actuated to steer the rear wheels in a direction opposite to that of the front wheels. When the rear wheel steering angle detected by a rear wheel steering angle sensor is changed in response to the front wheel steering angle, the hydraulic cylinder is not activated, thereby not steering the rear wheels.

  • Patent number: 4640526
Abstract: A vehicle suspension apparatus including suspension units each provided for each wheel and having an air spring chamber is disclosed, in which rolling control and vehicle height control are done through control of air to and from the air spring chambers. The driving of a reservoir tank for storing compressed air to be supplied to the air spring chambers, is inhibited until the engine operation has been stabilized after the start of the engine preset level. In this way, the problems in the engine lubrication and idling are solved, and the defficiencies of the starting property of the engine are overcome.

  • Patent number: 4639014
Abstract: The characteristic of the suspension is held to be a soft one when the vehicle is running along a flat surface, while it is automatically switched by the switch unit to a hard one when the cycle period T of vertical vibration of the vehicle height becomes near the cycle of the natural vibration of sprung mass of the suspension at the time of running along a road having an irregular surface or jumping a projection, thereby suppressing the resonance of the vehicle body due to external force applied from the road to improve the comfortability.
