The control unit controls the driving mechanism and the imaging unit while switching between a first mode in which the imaging unit takes images while simultaneously being moved at a high speed by the driving mechanism, and a second mode in which the imaging unit takes images having a higher resolution than the images taken in the first mode while simultaneously being moved at a speed lower than that of the first mode.

Abstract: An experimental system includes an imaging unit which generates image data by imaging a sample, and an observation moving mechanism which changes a position of the imaging unit. The system also includes a supply and removal unit which supplies a liquid to the sample or removes the liquid from the sample, an operation moving mechanism which changes a position of the supply and removal unit, and a pump which moves the liquid through the supply and removal unit.
