  • Patent number: 7548219
Abstract: A display device has a first color display panel having multi-color pixels formed of two groups of electrodes corresponding to signal electrodes and scanning electrodes. A second display panel has single-color pixels formed of two groups of electrodes corresponding to signal electrodes and scanning electrodes. The number of the signal electrodes of the second display panel are fewer in number than the signal electrodes of the first color display panel. A driver integrated circuit outputs driving signals shared commonly by and supplied to the signal and scanning electrodes of the first and second display panels. The driving signals output from the driver integrated circuit are supplied to the signal electrodes of the second display panel in only one color from among the colors of the multi-color pixels of the first display panel.

  • Patent number: 7474274
Abstract: A display device of the present invention switches between two displays, a main panel display and a sub-panel display, by using one driver IC. Liquid crystals having different optimal driver voltages are used in the main panel and the sub-panel, and the optimal driver voltage for the panel in which display is to be performed is output. A driver voltage that is higher or lower than the optimal driver voltage is applied to the display panel where display is not to be performed, and the entire display thereof displays a single color. Display content of the panel on which display is not to be performed cannot be identified.

  • Patent number: 7453543
Abstract: A display device has a first flexible substrate having a connection terminal and a driver integrated circuit for supplying driving signals. A second flexible substrate is connected to the connection terminal of the first flexible substrate. A pair of display panels are connected to the respective first and second flexible substrates for sharing driving signals supplied by the driver integrated circuit to drive the display panels.

  • Publication number: 20050088364
Abstract: To provide a display device in which a main panel and a sub-panel with different numbers of pixels are driven with one chip, and with which a wiring method enabling display of display contents in balance on a display screen having the smaller number of pixels. Accordingly, in the display device of the present invention, main panel electrodes are thinned out and connected to sub-panel electrodes. In other words, driver signals output from a driver IC are input to a color main panel. In addition, the driver signals are extracted therefrom, thinned out according to a ratio of the number of pixels of the sub-panel to the number of pixels of the main panel, and input to the sub-panel. Furthermore, only blue signals of the main panel are input to the sub-panel when the sub-panel is monochrome.

  • Publication number: 20040263759
Abstract: A driver IC is mounted on a first FPC, and connected to a main panel. A connection terminal that is provided to the first FPC is connected to a second FPC, and in addition, the second FPC is connected to a sub-panel. Output signals from the driver IC are shared between and connected to the main panel and the sub-panel. According to this configuration, the main panel and the sub-panel can share the driver IC without making the outer shape of the main panel larger. An inexpensive dual display device can thus be achieved.

  • Patent number: 6461125
Abstract: An air chamber device has an air pump having a first air discharge valve, an air chamber connected to the air pump for receiving air discharged by the first air discharge valve, and a second air discharge valve for discharging air from the air chamber. The air pump has an elastic body having an upper elastic part and a lower elastic part connected together to define an interior space. At least one through-hole is formed in the upper elastic part for introducing ambient air into the interior space.
