  • Patent number: 5111006
Abstract: A switch device for a power driven seat of a vehicle wherein the position of the seat is adjusted by the driving force of a motor. A first control knob three-dimensionally representing the shape of the seat cushion and a second control knob three-dimensionally representing the shape of the seat back are provided. These knobs are capable of moving relative to each other, and the movement of each of the knobs by an occupant is detected by a limit switch. Therefore, when the passenger intends to move each portion of the seat, it is necessary to move the first and the second control knobs in the desired direction of the seat. As a result, the seat is moved.

  • Patent number: 4898649
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an electrolytically chromated steel sheet, comprising the steps of: subjecting a steel sheet intermittently to a plurality of runs of cathodic electrolytic chromate treatment in an acidic electrolytic chromating solution. At least one of these plurality of runs of cathodic electrolytic chromate treatment is carried out at a high electric current density within the range of from 90 to 200 A/dm.sup.2, to form on at least one surface of the steel sheet a chromating film comprising a metallic chromium layer as a lower layer having numerous granular projections over the entire surface thereof, and a hydrated chromium oxide layer as an upper layer. The electrolytically chromated steel sheet manufactured in accordance with the method of the present invention is excellent in a secondary paint adhesion and a weldability, and has a satisfactory surface hue.

  • Patent number: 4875984
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an electrolytically chromated steel sheet, comprising the steps of: subjecting a steel sheet to an anodic electrolytic treatment with a quantity of electricity of from 0.3 to 30 coulomb/dm.sup.2 in an acidic electrolyte containing at least one of chromic anhydride, chromate and bichromate, to form a hydrated chromium oxide film having numerous holes and numerous thin portions over the entire area of at least one surface of the steel sheet; and then subjecting the anodically treated steel sheet to a cathodic electrolytic chromate treatment in an acidic electrolytic chromating solution to form on the at least one surface of the steel sheet a chromate film comprising a metallic chromium layer as a lower layer having thereon numerous granular projections, and a hydrated chromium oxide layer as an upper layer.

  • Patent number: 4645299
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a rotary indicating device preferably in use, for example, for wheel covers for motor vehicles. The device includes a base member having an indication region and adapted to be rotated about a rotary axis. The indication region indicates a desired image and comprises a plurality of reflection faces. The reflection faces are inclined in the same direction and also at the same angle with respect to a standard plane perpendicular to a rotary axis of the base member. Thus, when the base member rotates, the observer can visually recognize the image as a clear single image due to the after image phenomenon.

  • Patent number: 4631848
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a rotary indicating device adaptable to, for example, wheel covers for motor vehicles. The device includes a rotary base member having, on its front or rear surface, a plurality of indication regions which respectively consist of completely the same desired images and arranged at equal angular intervals about a rotary axis of the rotary base member. When the rotary base member rotates at more than a predetermined rotational speed, an observer located at a predetermined position with respect to the device can view a distinct constant image, appearing at a predetermined position of the rotary base member, due to the after image phenomenon.

  • Patent number: 4593953
Abstract: An apparatus for covering a disc wheel supporting a tire for a motor vehicle has a wheel cover mounted on the disc wheel and covering an outer side of the disc wheel, and at least one ventilation opening in the wheel cover for communicating the inside of the wheel cover with the atmosphere. The apparatus is provided with a closing plate for closing the ventilation opening when a temperature inside the wheel cover is not more than a predetermined temperature and opening the ventilation opening when the temperature inside the wheel cover is more than the predetermined temperature. A heat sensing member, which may be made of a shape memory effect alloy is connected to the closing plate and deforms when the temperature inside the wheel cover is more than the predetermined temperature so as to displace the closing plate away from the opening to open the opening.
