    Abstract: A compressor includes a member with a recess in which a reed discharge valve is disposed. The recess has a discharge hole, a fixation hole, and an annular projection formed around the discharge hole. The discharge valve includes a fixed portion, a flexible portion, and a head portion to open/close the annular projection. A protruding portion is formed at a rear end portion of the fixed portion. A first side surface of the protruding portion is designed to be substantially flush with a side surface of the fixed portion, which surface is closer to a center of the member. When the discharge valve rotates in a predetermined direction about the fixation hole after the discharge valve is disposed in the recess but before being fixed to the member, the first side surface of the protruding portion comes into contact with a side wall of the recess.

    Abstract: A rotary compressor includes a drive mechanism having a drive shaft with an eccentric part, and a compression mechanism. The compression mechanism includes a tubular cylinder covering an outer periphery of the eccentric part, a piston arranged inside the cylinder and fitted onto the eccentric part, an upper end plate closing an upper end of the cylinder, and a lower end plate closing a lower end of the cylinder. A lower end surface of the eccentric part defines a thrust bearing surface slidably contacting an upper end surface of the lower end plate. The drive shaft has an oil path with lubrication oil circulating through the oil path. The eccentric part has a circumferentially extending pressure reduction groove opening at part of the thrust bearing surface close to an inner circumferential side to reduce a pressure of the lubrication oil supplied from the oil path to the pressure reduction groove.

    Abstract: A sealing is arranged between a rear head having an ejection port configured and arranged to eject compressed refrigerant and a rear muffler disposed so that a muffler space is formed between the rear muffler and the rear head. The rear head includes a main body having a bearing hole, an annular boss portion protruding from the main body and circumscribing the bearing hole, and an annular side wall protruding from the main body and circumscribing the boss portion. The rear muffler has an opening and is fastened to the end surface of the side wall so that the peripheral portion of the opening contacts the end surface of the boss portion. Preferably, the end surface of the boss portion has a part entirely further from the main body than the end surface of the side wall.

At places distant from the fixing member, on the other hand, the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall of the muffler and the outer peripheral surface of the body portion of the end plate member are close-fitted.

    Abstract: A compressor includes a closed container, a compression element placed within the closed container, and a motor placed within the closed container to drive the compression element via a shaft. An integral structural part is formed by integrally assembling a compression element with a rotor via a shaft. The natural frequency of the integral structural part is larger than five times the maximum number of rotations of the compressor during its operation. A coil of a stator is provided in concentrated winding. A cylindrical-shaped rotor core of the rotor has a small-diameter portion and a large-diameter portion provided inside the rotor core. The shaft is fixed to the small-diameter portion of the rotor core. A bearing of the compression element is arranged to support the shaft and is inserted into the large-diameter portion of the rotor core, with the shaft being cantilevered by the bearing.

    Abstract: A discharge passage 15 which communicates with a discharge outlet 16 of a compressing section 3 and discharges compressed gas into a chamber S1 opposite to the compressing section with respect to a motor 2 is provided axially through a drive shaft 4 of the motor 2. An outward discharge pipe 17 is opened at a middle chamber S2 provided between the compressing section 3 and the motor 2 inside a hermetic casing 1. An effect of cooling the motor 2 by discharge gas can be fully exerted, so that possible temperature increase of the motor 2 is prevented to improve reliability and efficiency of the motor 2, and oil mixed in the discharge gas is separated.
