Abstract: [Problem] The present invention has as an object to reduce the occurrence of jamming of sheet within a sheet handling device. [Solution] The sheet handling device comprises an input/output section having the function of stacking sheets and configured to accept and dispense sheets from the sheet handling device; a storing unit configured to store sheets; a transport path allocated between the storing unit and the input/output section and configured to transport sheets; a determination section allocated on the transport path and configured to determine transport condition of sheets being transported; and a controller that, in the event that the determination section determines improper transport condition of a sheet being transported from the storing unit to the input/output section by the transport path, controls the transport path so as to store the sheet in the storing unit.

Abstract: In a paper money handling device of the type in which paper money conveying unit, wheel driving unit and reel driving unit are driven to wind a tape between a wheel and a reel and to rewind the tape wound on the wheel to the reel and to deliver paper money, an initial diameter of the reel and a moving speed of the tape are calculated on the basis of the add-up value of pulses generated from an encoder, and the wheel driving unit and the reel driving unit are controlled so that the moving speed so calculated attains a set speed. Jamming is prevented by slightly changing the set speed from the speed of the paper money conveying unit.

Abstract: In an automated teller machine having a function capable of discriminating paper currencies, the automated teller machine is operable in such a manner that a paper currency range which is to be handled by a main body of the own automated teller machine is made coincident with a paper currency range (furthermore, sort of paper currencies of paper currency storage safes, or cassettes) which may be handled by a paper currency deposit/withdraw mechanism (paper currency discriminating unit). Also, a centralized managing system can manage a plurality of the above-explained automated teller machines.
