  • Patent number: 5872745
Abstract: In a time measuring system having a high-speed counter section (1) for counting up a counter value in response to a clock signal between supplies of a measurement start signal and a measurement stop signal to produce a counter output signal representative of the counter value, a signal producing section (4) is supplied with a measurement able/disable switching signal and with an original stop signal and produces the measurement start signal and the measurement stop signal. An adding section (2) executes an adding operation as regards the counter value by the use of the clock signal and the counter output signal to produce a sum total of the counter value. Responsive to the sum total, a data producing section (3) produces a resolution datum by the use of the counter output signal. In order to produce the measurement start signal and the measurement stop signal, the signal producing section uses the resolution datum, the sum total, and the clock signal.

  • Patent number: 5805532
Abstract: A time interval measurement system, by which measurement of individual time interval with remarkably improved measurement accuracy is made possible with smaller circuit scale, comprises a high speed counter section, an adder section, and a control section. The high speed counter section includes a m-bit counter unit having a plurality of m-bit counters for obtaining an integer part of the time interval between a START signal and a STOP signal, a first 1-bit counter unit having a plurality of first 1-bit counters for obtaining an decimal part of the time interval, and a high frequency pulse generator circuit.

  • Patent number: 5689539
Abstract: In order to measure an individual time interval with accuracy beyond frequency limit of semiconductors, a time measurement system of the invention generates a series of delayed pulses, each of which has the same pulse width with the time interval to be measured and delayed by a unit delay time shorter than a cycle time of a system clock from its preceding delayed pulse. A series of discriminate number measurement pulses are also generated from the series of delayed pulses, each of which rises at a common time and falls at each corresponding delay pulse. From number of a longest sequence of the same pulse number of the system clock counted in the discriminate number measurement pulses, the unit delay time is measured. From average value of pulse numbers of the system clock counted in each of the delayed pulses, the time interval to be measured is calculated with accuracy of the unit delay time.

  • Patent number: 5369598
Abstract: A flow amount measuring and controlling apparatus which has a built-in gas meter can compute and control the flow amount used for each gas appliance by the estimation of the gas appliance generated in the flow variation from the change of the monetary flow amount passing through the gas meter, whereby, since the condition of the gas appliance can be correctly determined, the abnormal operation of the gas appliance can be detected so as to shut off the gas.

  • Patent number: 4485296
Abstract: The automatic temperature control device for an electric appliance such as an electric blanket comprises a heater element, a sensor made of a thermosensitive material having an impedance, which changes as the temperature varies, for detecting the temperature of the heater element, switching means for regulating the supply of electric power to the heater element, and a plurality of electric circuits for driving the switching means in response to the output signal from the sensor. The plurality of electric circuits function to prevent the sensor from being polarized and to detect a temperature signal by applying thereto an alternating current, to detect a failure occurring in the electric circuits in synchronism with zero-crossing pulses, and to detect a failure occurring in the switching means, thereby assuring a safe operation of the automatic temperature control device against the occurrence of any failure.
