Patent number: 8393590Abstract: A vehicle seat rail assembly has a lower rail having a guide groove opening upward in the vertical direction of the vehicle body, that extends in a direction coincident with the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and supported stationary relative to the vehicle body; an upper rail attached to a vehicle seat and guided by the lower rail to slide in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle; and a cover mechanism that is disposed between a pair of inner walls that define the guide groove of the lower rail and that closes the guide groove. The cover mechanism includes a stationary cover that remains stationary relative to the lower rail and a movable cover that slides relative to stationary cover.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2008Date of Patent: March 12, 2013Assignees: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, Toyota Boshoku Kabushiki Kaisha, Aisin Seiki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hideyuki Kato, Hiromasa Hayakawa, Masaharu Nakamura

Patent number: 7922251Abstract: According to this invention, there are provided a stopper stopping forward pivoting of a seat back at the position of a forwardly tilted state, a stopper operation mechanism, a reclining mechanism switching the seat back between a free state in which it can be pivoted with respect to a seat cushion and a lock state in which it cannot be pivoted with respect thereto, a reclining lever, and a connection lever. Through operation of operation levers the seat back is placed in the free state via the stopper operation mechanism, the connection lever, and the reclining lever, and the stopper is moved via the stopper operation mechanism. And, between the stopper operation mechanism and the reclining lever is provided a retention mechanism that retains the stopper at a position to which the stopper is moved.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2008Date of Patent: April 12, 2011Assignees: Toyota Boshoku Kabushiki Kaisha, Aisin Seiki Kabushiki Kaisha, Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiromasa Hayakawa, Shingo Suzushika, Masaharu Nakamura, Ko Ishikawa

Patent number: 7857392Abstract: A vehicle seat can include a stopper capable of stopping a forward tilting of a seat back at a forwardly tilted position, and a stopper operation mechanism. The stopper operation mechanism has a main pivoting member that is pivoted through an operation of a forward tilting operation lever, a sub pivoting member that is pivoted with respect to the main pivoting member, and a connection spring connecting these tilting members to each other. When the forward tilting operation lever is operated, the sub pivoting member receives a force from the connection spring to be pivoted together with the main pivoting member, causing the stopper to move to an acting position. When the stopper is pushed from the acting position toward a non-acting position, with the forward tilting operation lever being operated, the sub pivoting member receives a force from the stopper to elastically deform the connection spring, and is pivoted with respect to the main pivoting member together with the stopper.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2008Date of Patent: December 28, 2010Assignees: Toyota Boshuku Kabushiki Kaisha, Aisin Seiki Kabushiki Kaisha, Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiromasa Hayakawa, Shingo Suzushika, Masaharu Nakamura, Ko Ishikawa

Patent number: 7828382Abstract: The present invention relates to an operation lever arrangement structure of a vehicle seat. The seat is provided with a tilt down operation lever and a walk-in operation lever. These operation levers are disposed on a side surface portion of a shoulder portion of a seat back, so as to be in a condition in which the operation levers are laterally aligned with each other along a widthwise direction of the seat back, and are rotatably supported by a rotational shaft positioned parallel to a connection shaft so as to be rotated in the same direction as a rotating direction of the seat back. When the operation levers are rotated in a forwardly tilting direction of the seat back, the seat back can be tilted down forwardly. An end portion as an operating portion of the walk-in operation lever disposed on an inner side is shaped to have an extended portion that is extended to an upper surface position of the tilt down operation lever disposed on an outer side.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2006Date of Patent: November 9, 2010Assignees: Toyota Boshoku Kabushiki Kaisha, Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hideyuki Ozeki, Hiromasa Hayakawa, Keiichirou Inoue
