  • Patent number: 5747572
Abstract: The present invention relates to a releasable aqueous coating composition containing (A) a resin dispersion containing a carbonyl group-containing copolymer aqueous dispersion and a polyhydrazide compound in such a ratio that an amount of hydrazide group is in the range of 0.02 to 3.0 equivalents per one equivalent of carbonyl group in the emulsion particle, and (B) a release assistant; and a method of temporarily protecting a finished coating film of an automobile body, which method comprises coating said coating composition onto a surface of a finished cured coating film coated onto the automobile body.

  • Patent number: 5621058
Abstract: The present invention provides hydrophilic crosslinked polymer fine particles made of a copolymer composed of:2-50% by weight of (a) a monoethylenic monomer having a polyoxyalkylene or polyvinylpyrrolidone chain,20-97% by weight of (b) a (meth)acrylamide type monoethylenic monomer,1-30% by weight of (c) a crosslinkable unsaturated monomer having at least one N-methylol or N-alkoxymethyl group and a polymerizable double bond, and0-50% by weight of (d) other monoethylenic monomer.Said polymer fine particles are superior in polymerization stability as well as in dispersion stability during storage, undergoes no adverse effect by dispersion stabilizer owing to no use of said stabilizer, and are suitably used for formation of a hydrophilic film.

  • Patent number: 5322865
Abstract: An aqueous color paint composition comprising(I) an aqueous dispersion of acrylic polymer fine particles,(II) a modified polyester resin aqueous dispersion obtained by neutralizing, with a basic substance, a modified polyester resin formed by polymerizing (A) a radical-polymerizable unsaturated group-containing polyester resin and (B) a mixture of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid and another copolymerizable unsaturated monomer and having an acid value of 8 to 200 and a hydroxyl value of 30 to 300, and dispersing the resulting resin in an aqueous dispersion medium,(III) a crosslinking agent, and(IV) a color pigment. The composition is, even if high-solid, good in coatability and excellent in smoothness of the coated film. It is therefore quite suitable as a high-solid base coat composition when coating an outside plate, etc. of automobiles, two-wheelers, electric appliances, etc. requiring beautiful appearance.
