    Abstract: A thermosensitive recording material is disclosed, which comprises a support material and a thermosensitive coloring layer formed thereon comprising a leuco dye, a color developer capable of inducing color formation in the leuco dye upon application of heat thereto, and a diether compound having the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R represents a straight or branched hydrocarbon having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, including 1 to 4 double bonds therein, X and Y each represent an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; an alkoxy group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; halogen; an aryl group; an aralkyl group; an acyloxy group (R'COO--), wherein R' is an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; an aryloxy group; or an aralkyloxy group; and m and n each represent an integer of 1 to 3.
