  • Patent number: 5375917
Abstract: A braking force control system of a vehicle includes a deviation reference control quantity determining device for determining an operation control quantity for the actuator on the basis of a deviation between a target deceleration determined on the basis of a quantity of operation of a brake operating member and a detected deceleration of the vehicle. In this control system, the level of operation speed is judged in accordance with whether or not the variation per unit time in quantity of operation of the brake operating member exceeds a preset value.

  • Patent number: 5248190
Abstract: A hydraulic braking pressure control system for a vehicle comprises a master cylinder (M) operatively connected to a brake pedal (P), an operation-amount detector (S) for detecting the amount by which the brake pedal is operated, a hydraulic pressure control unit (2.sub.FL etc.) for controlling the hydraulic pressure to be applied to a brake device (B.sub.FL etc.) mounted on a wheel in accordance with an applied quantity of electricity, and a control circuit (3) for controlling the quantity of electricity to be applied to the hydraulic pressure control unit, in accordance with a detection value provided by the operation-amount detector. The system further includes a cut-off valve (30.sub.FL etc.) adapted to be closed in response to depression of the brake pedal, and a reservoir (R.sub.2) connected through the cut-off valve to an oil passage (27) connecting the hydraulic pressure control unit and the brake device.

  • Patent number: 5200896
Abstract: With the method of the present invention, a detected value in the longitudinal acceleration-deceleration detector can be corrected for a gradient of a slope acting on the detector when the vehicle is traveling on a sloped road surface. Assuming that a vehicle is traveling on an upward slope or a downward slope, a value in a vertical acceleration-deceleration detector is detected. A determination is made as to whether the vehicle is traveling on the upward or downward slope using a corrected value which is closest to a pseudo-acceleration or deceleration based on wheel speeds. This enables a more accurate estimation of the longitudinal acceleration or deceleration by using the corrected value which is closest to the pseudo-acceleration or deceleration.

  • Patent number: 5186525
Abstract: A hydraulic braking pressure control system includes a shut-off valve (4) which is provided in an oil passage (58) connecting a brake device with an output port in a master cylinder and which is brought into a closed state by a control circuit when a braking operation is detected by an operation-amount detector, and a locking device (5) for inhibiting the closing of the shut-off valve when the output hydraulic pressure from a hydraulic pressure supply source in equal to or less than a predetermined value. The shut-off valve is opened when there is no braking operation, thereby ensuring that even if a hydraulic pressure is delivered from a hydraulic pressure control valve when there is no braking operation, such hydraulic pressure can be released into a reservoir.

  • Patent number: 5136507
Abstract: A system for correctively controlling the turning movement of a vehicle, including a device for correcting the turning movement of the vehicle, a sensor for detecting the steering angle of a steering wheel of the vehicle, a steering angle hysteresis storage device for storing the hysteresis of the steering angle, and a reference value arithmetic device for determining a reference value of a physical quantity generated during a turning movement of the vehicle, on the basis of the hysteresis of the steering angle. The system also includes a detector for detecting an actual value of the physical quantity during the turning movement, a calculator for determining a deviation between the reference value and actual value of the physical quantity and a polarity of the deviation, and a control-quantity determining device for determining a control-quantity for the turning movement correcting device on the basis of the deviation obtained in the calculator.

  • Patent number: 5083075
Abstract: An electromagnetically operated control system includes an actuator having an electromagnetic solenoid which exerts an electromagnetic force of the magnitude corresponding to the amount of electricity input to the solenoid, and a control circuit for controlling the amount of input electricity. The solenoid includes a pair of coils and the control circuit is changed over between a plurality of states including one state in which half of the amount of input electricity is applied to both coils, respectively, and another state in which upon a failure in either one of the coils the whole amount of input electricity is applied to the other coil. This control circuit assures a normal level of electromagnetic force, even upon a failure in one of the coils, with use of the normal one coil which is then applied with the whole of input electricity.

  • Patent number: 4811933
Abstract: A fluid-filled bushing comprises an outer tube, an inner tube disposed coaxially in the outer tube, a plurality of resilient members disposed between the outer and inner tubes and defining a fluid chamber therebetween, and a closure member disposed in the fluid chamber and having a base fitted in the outer tube and a support disposed around the inner tube and supporting the inner tube swingably and axially slidably, the closure member dividing the fluid chamber into a plurality of fluid chambers. The closure member has a valve mechanism for varying the rate of fluid communication between the divided fluid chambers. The resilient members include two substantially annular resilient partitions positioned coaxially and axially symmetrically with respect to the closure member positioned between the resilient partitions.

  • Patent number: 4773671
Abstract: The damping force of a damper on a motor vehicle is automatically controlled dependent on the running condition of the motor vehicle and the road condition in which the motor vehicle travels. An acceleration of vertical vibration of the motor vehicle body is detected by a sensor, and a binary pulse signal indicative of a variation in the acceleration is produced. Then, a first signal is generated on the basis of whether the pulse duration of the binary pulse signal is at least a prescribed value or smaller than the prescribed value. Thereafter, a second signal is produced indicating the magnitude of the absolute value of the acceleration. Finally, the damping force of the damper is selectively adjusted to hard, normal, and soft settings based on a combination of the first and second signals.
