  • Patent number: 4448018
Abstract: A method and system for operating a regenerative gas turbine in which a compressed gaseous medium is saturated with steam from untreated water having impurities in a first contact chamber and then supplied to a second chamber where the mixture is washed with pure water to remove impurities. The resulting mixture is mixed with fuel and combusted to supply gas to the turbine. Exhaust gas from the turbine is supplied to two serially connected regenerators which transfer heat to the recirculating untreated and pure water.

  • Patent number: 4091970
Abstract: In a pump for use in a hot chamber type die casting machine wherein corrosive molten metal particularly aluminum or alloys thereof is injected into a metal mould through a goose neck shaped passage, a porous ceramic tube having a porosity of 10 to 40% and acting as the goose neck shaped passage is cast in the main body of the pump. The porous ceramic tube comprises sintered zircon or porous graphite.

  • Patent number: 4029000
Abstract: The cylinder and piston of an injection pump which are severely corroded by molten aluminum or the like are made of a composite sintered body containing two or more of the compounds selected from the group consisting of boron carbide, titanium diboride, zirconium diboride and boron nitride, and having excellent corrosion resistant, wear resistant and heat shock properties and high mechanical strength. One or more of the compounds selected from the group consisting of borides of tantalum, molybdenum and tungsten; carbides of silicon, zirconium, tantalum, vanadium, chromium, tungsten and molybdenum; nitrides of titanium, aluminum, silicon and zirconium; and oxides of aluminum and beryllium may be incorporated.
