  • Patent number: 5307089
Abstract: A dynamic driving type optical printing head comprising a plurality of LED elements divided into a plurality of groups, wherein the LED elements are driven in time-division by groups, comprises a plurality of LED blocks arranged along the scanning direction on the head substrate, wherein each of the LED blocks comprises a plurality of LED elements arranged in the scanning direction; a plurality of wiring blocks arranged along the array of the LED blocks, wherein each of the wiring blocks comprises a plurality of selecting signal lines; and one or more data drivers; wherein each of the LED elements is connected to the corresponding selecting signal line in the wiring block by wiring means, and the selecting signal line is connected to the data driver by wiring means, so that the plurality of LED elements in each of the LED groups are connected to the data driver individually to each other.

  • Patent number: 4734714
Abstract: An optical printer includes an optical printing head and a photosensitive member. Although quiet and fine printing can be performed when a light emitting diode array is employed as the optical printing head, there have been problems, on the other hand, such as difficulty in driving and difficulty in adjustment of primary factors directly affecting the printing quality such as uneveness in dot pitches and intensity. Therefore, the present invention copes with driving conditions by effectively distributing data transferring during static driving, thereby to improve the printing quality by selective printing timings.

  • Patent number: 4733127
Abstract: A unit of arrayed light emitting diodes in accordance with the present invention is formed in a manner in which gold paste or the like is applied by screen printing on a substrate (11) to form an elongate printed conductor (12) having a thickness of less than 40 .mu.m, on which light emitting diode arrays (14) having a large number of light emitting areas (5) are disposed. The elongate printed conductor (12) comprises a plurality of printed thick films (121, 122 and 123), the lowermost thick film (121) for example being of a thickness of 10 .mu.m or less, so that both longer side edges of the thick film (121) may have good linearity. Accordingly, using the parallel longer side edges of the elongate printed conductor (12) as reference lines, a plurality of light emitting diode arrays (14) can be disposed with good linearity. In addition, by decreasing a resistance value per unit length of the elongate printed conductor (12) to 1.1 m.OMEGA.

  • Patent number: 4633280
Abstract: A unit of light emitting diode arrays in accordance with the present invention comprises a main body (21) of n-GaAs, layers (22) and (23) of n-GaAsP formed on the main body and a plurality of light emitting regions (24) formed in a line by diffusion of Zn on the surface of the layers. Each of the light emitting regions (24) has a rectangular shape and contains a protruding portion (241). In the direction intersecting at right angles with the light emitting regions (24) formed in a line, electrodes (25) are provided alternately. These electrodes (25) are formed by evaporation and photolithography to cover the respective protruding portions (241) so as to be in ohmic contact. Thus, since the electrodes (25) are formed to cover the protruding portions (241) of the light emitting regions (24), a printing dot of a desired shape can be formed and accordingly, the quality of printing can be improved and an arrangement of a high density of printing dots can be made.

  • Patent number: 4605944
Abstract: An LED array device includes a plurality of LED units and a board for supporting the plurality of LED units. Each LED unit has a plurality of LED elements aligned straight in a predetermined pitch with a predetermined spacing between neighboring LED elements. The plurality of LED units are aligned straight with their end edges confronting each other such that an array of LED elements on one LED unit is in alignment with an array of LED elements on a next LED unit with the predetermined pitch being maintained. A spacing between an LED element positioned at the end of the alignment on the LED unit and the end edge of the LED unit is less than a half of the predetermined spacing.
