  • Patent number: 6671960
Abstract: An electric rotary shaver including a cutter retaining plate equipped with cutter units each having an inner cutter and an outer cutter and detachably attached to an outer cutter frame of the shaver, and the shaver further including an attachment-detachment mechanism for mounting the cutter retaining plate to the outer cutter frame in a detachable fashion. The attachment-detachment mechanism includes a triangular boss and an engagement projection. The triangular boss is formed on the outer cutter frame and has engagement openings opened in its side surfaces, and the engagement projection is formed on a mounting knob held in cutter retaining plate. By turning the mounting knob with its engagement projection inserted in the boss and thus letting the engagement projection be engaged with the engagement opening, the cutter retaining plate is mounted to the outer cutter frame of the shaver in a detachable fashion.

  • Publication number: 20030221319
Abstract: An electric shaver including first and second oscillators that convert rotational driving, which is supplied from a driving motor via joint portions that are connected to each other in a plurality of locations in the height direction of the shaver, into reciprocating driving that is oriented in mutually opposite directions and transmit this reciprocating driving to cutter units. The first and second oscillators are connected to first and second eccentric pins which are installed in upright at positions where phases are substantially opposite above and below the eccentric joint portions.

  • Publication number: 20020062565
Abstract: An electric rotary shaver comprising: a cutter frame having a plurality of outer cutter holes, outer cutters disposed in outer cutter holes so as to be tiltable in any direction, and inner cutters rotatably disposed inside the outer cutters and connected to inner cutter drive shafts that are rotationally driven and urged in a direction that causes the inner cutter drive shafts to protrude outward; wherein a cutter retaining plate is provided inside the cutter frame so as to be on a main body side of the electric shaver, and fulcrum plates are tiltably shaft-supported in the cutter retaining plate so as to be positionally correspond to the outer cutter holes; and the outer cutters are shaft-supported in the fulcrum plates via supporting members in a direction that is perpendicular to the direction in which the fulcrum plates are shaft-supported by the cutter retaining plate, thus being tiltable.

  • Patent number: 6199282
Abstract: An electric rotary shaver with one or a plurality of circular outer cutter units each formed with a plurality of blade formation regions of annular shapes concentrically arranged. The blade formation regions located outermost are formed greater in thickness than other blade formation regions(s), and hair-entry slits extending in the radial direction are formed in the blade formation regions so as to form slit-form blades. Thus, the slit-form blades in the blade formation regions other the outermost blade formation region is thinner than those of the outermost blade formation region thus allowing deep shaving and assuring a strength of the outer cutter unit.

  • Patent number: 5427001
Abstract: Method and apparatus for opening slits of uneven lengths in the concentric circular shaving sections of an external cutting member that is used in an electric razor using a rotary cutter that cuts the shaving sections of the external cutting member in radial directions as the external cutting member is rotated around its axis by a predetermined angle with a use of an index device. The differences in the length of the slit are obtained by changing the cutting angle of the rotary cutter relative to the external cutting member.

  • Patent number: 5390416
Abstract: An electric razor including a plurality of external and internal cutting members in which each external cutting member has slits and a plurality of concentric tracks formed in the back and each internal cutting member has a plurality of rows of cutting edges that can rotate in the concentric tracks of the external cutting member. The slits are formed so that imaginary lines extending towards the center of the internal cutting member do not intersect the center of the internal cutting member, and the cutting edges are at the ends of the arms that extend outwardly from the internal cutting member.

  • Patent number: 5329702
Abstract: An electric razor with round external cutting members and round internal cutting members with cutters at the end of uneven length arms. Each one of the external cutting members has concentric circular shaving sections obtained by concentric grooves, and the backs of the circular shaving sections are defined as tracks so that cutters of the internal cutting member are rotated in the tracks. The external cutting member is formed with slits which are substantially in a radial direction and uneven in the length.
