  • Patent number: 6784607
Abstract: In a color cathode ray tube in which a shadow mask and an inner magnetic shield are supported by a mask frame and an electron shield is provided in the mask frame, at least a part of the electron shield is made to have a smaller anhysteretic magnetic permeability than the shadow mask, the mask frame and the inner magnetic shield when an applied magnetic field is 800 A/m (10 Oe). Since the magnetic resistance of the electron shield increases, it is possible to reduce a leakage magnetic field from a tube-axis-side edge of the electron shield. Thus, a color cathode ray tube that reduces mis-landing due to a terrestrial magnetism and has no color displacement can be provided.

  • Patent number: 6774554
Abstract: A cathode ray tube includes a bulb including a front panel and a funnel, and an electron gun. The front panel includes a color selection mechanism and phosphors on an inner surface thereof. The funnel includes a conductive layer on an inner wall thereof. The electron gun is accommodated in a neck portion of the funnel. The conductive layer is divided into at least two regions, each of which has a different electric potential. A high electric potential conductive layer having a high electric potential, an insulating region, a resistive layer, and a low electric potential conductive layer having an electric potential lower than that of the high electric potential conductive layer are formed in this order from the panel side to the electron gun side. With this configuration, the two conductive layers do not interfere with each other because of discharge or the like and are independent, and stable voltage can be maintained. Thus, an electrostatic lens can be formed.

  • Patent number: 6534935
Abstract: In a color CRT apparatus in which three electron beams are not superimposed on one point on the screen at a time, a time difference is applied to modulating signals corresponding to the respective electron beams to adjust phase, thus achieving convergence of images, the screen is flat, both a horizontal magnetic deflection field and a vertical magnetic deflection field have uniform magnetic field distribution, paths of both side electron beams and a path of the center electron beam of the three electron beams emitted from electron sources are approximately parallel, and the time difference applied to the modulating signals is set to be approximately constant throughout the screen. Thus, images formed of imaging spots of the three electron beams can be superimposed on the screen with high precision to be matched without causing increased cost.

  • Patent number: 6157124
Abstract: An effective picture area A, displaying an image on the inside of a face panel, is curved and has no inflection points. An origin O marks the center of the effective picture area A on the inside of the face panel. The x-axis passes the origin O and is parallel to the long sides X.sub.a of the effective picture area. The y-axis passes the origin O and is parallel to the short sides Y.sub.a of the effective picture area. The z-axis passes the origin O and is parallel to the tube axis. Using a Cartesian coordinate system of the axes x, y, and z, the saggital height Z of any point (x, y, z) on the inner surface of the face panel 4 from the origin O in the direction of the tube is given by Z=a.sub.1 x.sup.2 +a.sub.2 x.sup.4 +a.sub.3 y.sup.2 +a.sub.4 x.sup.2 y.sup.2 +a.sub.5 x.sup.4 y.sup.2 +a.sub.6 y.sup.4 +a.sub.7 x.sup.2 y.sup.4, which describes a curved surface without inflection points.
