  • Publication number: 20220227498
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for tracking and/or predicting motion of a wing of an aircraft are disclosed herein. The systems, devices, and methods track wing motion (e.g., in real-time). In some embodiments, the systems and devices include stereo binocular vision (SBV) cameras and/or light detection and ranging (LIDAR) emitters and receivers mounted on the aircraft. In these and other embodiments, the systems and devices include a network of contact sensors (e.g., accelerometers or strain gauges) mounted on a wing and corresponding receivers mounted on the aircraft. In these and other embodiments, based at least in part on the captured wing motion data, machine learning is employed to predict wing motion (e.g., normal, turbulent, and/or chaotic wing motion) of the aircraft.

  • Patent number: 11028895
Abstract: An impact mitigating assembly includes an elongate member formed from a plurality of triangulated cylindrical origami (TCO) unit cells that exhibit coupled rotational and axial motion. The unit cells include an end portion and a tubular member fixed to the end portion. The tubular member has a plurality of concave sides. Each side has a first triangular portion and a second triangular portion sharing an elastic connecting edge with the second triangular portion. The first triangular portion also shares an angled upright edge with the second triangular portion of an adjacent side. Compressing the tubular member longitudinally causes the connecting edge and the angled upright edge to elastically deform, for example by stretching, and causes the second end of the tubular member to rotate with respect to the first end of the tubular member.

  • Patent number: 4051620
Abstract: The fishing device having a float readily slidable along a fishing line between a stopper and a swivel element. The fishing device includes a basket for scattering baits, the basket being divided into an upper part and a lower part. The upper part is unremovably connected to the fishing float; baits contained therein may be scattered out into water through its opened bottom when the basket is divided. The lower part of the basket readily slides down along the fishing line until it is stopped; baits contained therein may be scattered out little by little into water. The swivel element is provided with the fishing line. The line leads to a sinker to which a leader having a hook or lure at its terminal end is connected.
