A frame-shaped fitting unit in which the trunk area width detection unit is provided and that is capable of being disposed so as to surround a measurement subject's trunk area can be mounted on and removed from a platform unit in which foot electrodes are provided, and is stored within the platform unit during a stored state.

    Abstract: A cuff for a blood pressure monitor has an air bag inflated/deflated as the air comes in/out. The air bag has an inner wall portion located on the inner side in the fitted state of the cuff and an outer wall portion located outer than the inner wall portion, and a side wall portion connecting side end portions of the inner and outer wall portions and folded inwards in the deflated state of the air bag to form a gusset at each side end portion of the air bag. A bonded portion is provided at a region of the air bag in its winding direction around the living body, for reducing expansion of the gusset formed by the side wall portion. Thus, occurrence of lateral displacement of the cuff is prevented, and a highly reliable blood pressure monitor of high performance can be obtained.

    Abstract: A cuff for a blood pressure monitor includes a bag-shaped cover body containing an air bag and a curled elastic member as a curved elastic plate. The bag-shaped cover body is formed by stacking an inner cover member located on a living body side when applied and an outer cover member located on a side opposite to the living body side when applied, one on the other, and sewing their rims. The curled elastic member contained in the bag-shaped cover body includes a large curvature region and a small curvature region in a winding direction thereof to fit a measurement site. In a state where the air bag is not inflated, the inner cover member at a portion corresponding to the large curvature region of the curled elastic member is stretched in a width direction thereof.     Abstract: A cuff for a blood pressure monitor is provided with an air bag including a first bag member located outside and a second bag member located inside in the thickness direction when fitted on a living body. The first and second bag members have first and second inflated/deflated spaces, respectively. The second bag member is formed by laying a single-layer resin sheet on the surface on the living body side of the first bag member and by melting and bonding its rim to the surface. A bonded portion of the first bag member with the resin sheet is positioned inner than each end in the width direction of the first inflated/deflated space. Thus, a cuff for a blood pressure monitor fabricated with ease and at low cost, exhibiting high pressing performance and high avascularization performance, and suitable for reduction of cuff width can be provided.
