  • Patent number: 4796798
Abstract: An apparatus for continuous production of seam-welded steel tubing is proposed. The apparatus includes a series of shaping rolls for shaping a strip taken out from a strip coil into a tubular intermediate product, the roll series including a finpass roll group. The tubular product is subjected to seam welding under the action of a seam welder. Before arrival at the welder, a substantial main part of the preformed tubing with exception of opposing edge zones thereof is subjected to heating by a heater compensate for excess compressive stresses induced in the edge zones, while these zones are subjected to cooling by a cooler for avoiding otherwise formation of disadvantageous edge wavings which would otherwise occur.

  • Patent number: 4436006
Abstract: A cutting method comprising using a main body in the form of a circular disk and a hard layer provided on one surface of the main body and having a thickness of 0.02 to 0.2 mm. The hard layer is made of cemented carbides, TiC TaC, Cr.sub.2 C.sub.3, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 or the like, while the main body is made of a material, such as steel, non-ferrous metal or plastics, which is lower than the hard layer in abrasion resistance. The hard layer is formed along its outer periphery with a cutting edge which is self-sharpened when chipped.

  • Patent number: 4039868
Abstract: First and second transistors are connected in a monostable multivibrator configuration. A capacitor is coupled between the collector of the first transistor and the base of the second transistor. A first control voltage is applied to the collector of the first transistor to charge the capacitor when the second transistor is conductive. A constant current source is provided to charge the capacitor at a constant rate determined by a second control voltage. The stored energy is discharged through the first transistor when energized in a successive cycle. The capacitor is recharged by the constant current source through the first transistor to linearly raise the potential at the base of second transistor. The transistors are triggered by the distributer of an engine so that a control pulse is generated for each revolution of the engine's output shaft.

  • Patent number: 4005398
Abstract: A constant voltage developed by a constant voltage generator is integrated, and the integrated voltage is applied to a voltage comparator. A standard voltage is applied to a voltage controller, which includes a sensor responsive to vehicle operating conditions, to control the level of the standard voltage to indicate the degree of driver alertness necessitated by the vehicle operatingconditions. The controlled standard voltage is also applied to the voltage comparator, and when the integrated voltage exceeds the controlled standard voltage the comparator develops a warning signal output. A warning device receives the warning signal and is thereby rendered operative in order to alert the driver.
