  • Patent number: 6294120
Abstract: A purging agent which contains an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and which satisfies the conditions specified by the equations (1) and (2) below: 20≧BT(120)≧0.1  (1) 500≧BT(250)/BT(120)≧1.5  (2), where BT(120) is weight loss (%) on heating in nitrogen at 120° C. for 24 hours, and BT(250) is weight loss (%) on heating in nitrogen at 250° C. for 6 hours, rapidly discharges residual thermoplastic resin containing EVOH from molding equipment, and also rapidly discharges itself when a fresh resin is fed again to the equipment. This leads to a remarkable reduction in loss due to residual purging agent. In addition, the purging agent causes only a small amount of resin to stick to the equipment, even after repeated purging. After purging, it is possible to restore normal operation within a short period of time.

  • Patent number: 6258464
Abstract: A resin composition comprises a polyolefin (A), a saponified product (B) of an ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer having an ethylene content of from 10 to 70 mole % and a saponification degree of the vinyl ester component of not less than 80%, and an olefin-unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydride-unsaturated carboxylic ester or vinyl ester copolymer (C), wherein the following formulas (I) and (II) are satisfied 1/99≦weight of (B)/weight of (A)≦40/60  (I) 0.1/99.9≦X≦20/80  (II) wherein X=weight of (C)/total weight of (A) and (B). A multilayered structure comprising at least a layer of the above resin composition and a layer made of a saponified product of an ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer.

  • Patent number: 4761125
Abstract: A hydraulic device having a first shaft including a first rotor, and a second shaft including a second rotor, the first and second rotors being constructed by adjacently fitting the same shape rotor elements, respectively. The rotor elements have teeth on the outer periphery thereof at a constant interval, and each tooth has a tip portion fluid-tightly engaged with an inner wall of a housing of the device. The rotor elements are adjacently fitted to the shaft in such a manner that the rotor elements are displaced in the same rotational direction along the axial direction of the shaft. The teeth tip portions of the rotor elements adjacent to each other are overlapped so that spiral paths are defined on the outer surface of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4597718
Abstract: Hydraulic fluid supply system for supplying high pressure hydraulic fluid to power actuators for power steering systems includes a pumping mechanism having independent pumping chambers adapted to discharge fluid to a supply line leading to the power actuator. The supply line contains a variable orifice and a flow control valve responsive to the pressure difference generated by the variable orifice. The pumping chambers include at least first and second pumping chambers connected to first and second feed lines. A switching valve operatively interconnected to the variable orifice and actuated by an electrically operable drive mechanism selectively connects the second feed line to the supply line or to the first feed line.

  • Patent number: 4512728
Abstract: A vane-type rotary pump and a vane-type rotary compressor are integrated into a single unit and are driven by a common shaft. The compressor assembly is positioned at the rear of the pump assembly to minimize the number of mechanical seals required to seal the pump assembly along the shaft. The combined pump and compressor unit is provided with a regulating mechanism for reducing the compressor output during moderate or off modes of the refrigerant circuit.
