  • Patent number: 5575953
Abstract: In a coating composition for the inner wall of a cathode-ray tube comprising an aqueous dispersion medium containing potassium silicate, a dispersing agent and graphite particles or a combination of graphite particles and metal oxide particles or metal carbide particles suspended therein, the invention is characterized in that the molar ratio of silicon dioxide to potassium oxide (SiO.sub.2 /K.sub.2 O) in said potassium silicate is in the range of from 4 to 5, and the obtained coating film is characterized in that the adsorption quantity of moisture and gases is small and adhesiveness is excellent.

  • Patent number: 5512215
Abstract: Disclosed are a shading film formed on a transparent substrate for forming a color filter, and a shading coating for forming the shading film. The shading film is made up of particles of a material with a layered lattice structure. The maximum diameter of the particles is 3 .mu.m or less, with the average diameter in the 0.05 .mu.m to 0.08 .mu.m range, and 40 to 95 wt % of the particles have a diameter of 0.1 .mu.m or less. The average aspect ratio of the particles is 10/1 or greater. The shading coating contains: a particulate material with a layered lattice structure and satisfying the characteristics relating to the particle size described above; and a dispersion medium for dispersing the particulate material. Water is used as the dispersion medium.

  • Patent number: 4379762
Abstract: A method of producing a graphite-based conductive coating composition to be applied to the interior wall of a color picture (cathode-ray) tube, which method comprises the steps of preparing a mixed solution of electroconductive materials by mixing graphite particles, a metal oxide and a surface treating agent with water, producing an electroconductive powder by instantaneously drying said mixed solution, and mixing said electroconductive powder with a silicate and a dispersant in water and stirring the mixture. Said metal oxide, which is a component of said mixed solution, is preferably titanium oxide and the like and said surface treating agent is preferably silicon oxide. It is also desirable that said mixed solution of electroconductive materials be dried instantaneously by spray drying.
