  • Patent number: 6507700
Abstract: A waterproof camera has a waterproofing camera case (front and rear cases) and a lens barrel secured within the camera case. Within the lens barrel, there is formed a lens-containing space communicating to a front opening thereof. A group of lenses for wide-angle imaging are arranged in the space. A front lens of the lenses is placed to cover the opening, so that the front lens serves in common as a sealing member. An annular protrusion of tip of the lens barrel is caulked inside by thermal welding. An O-ring is inserted between an outer cylindrical surface of the front lens and an inner wall cylindrical surface of the lens barrel. Another O-ring is inserted between an outer cylindrical surface of tip of the lens barrel and an inner cylindrical surface of tip of the front case.
