  • Patent number: 6108532
Abstract: In a radio communications apparatus according to the present invention, an RSSI detects the strength of a received signal, and a fading pitch detection circuit detects a fading pitch of the signal from the detected strength thereof and determines whether the moving speed of the terminal apparatus exceeds a predetermined value. A high-speed moving time incoming call control means determines whether the apparatus is moving at high speed based on the determination results of the fading pitch detection circuit. If it is doing so, the control means automatically responds to the incoming call, transmits a response message from a response message storage area to a communication party, and stores a message input by the communication party in a message storage area.

  • Patent number: 5990576
Abstract: The positive potential side output of a voltage source (1) is connected to the positive potential side of a first circuit (10) through a terminal (6); the ground (negative potential) side output of voltage source (1) is connected through a terminal (8) to the ground (negative potential) side of first circuit (10). Also, the positive potential side output of voltage source (1) is lowered by a prescribed voltage .DELTA. V by a Schottky barrier diode (2) and is connected to the positive potential side of second circuit (11) through a terminal (7); the ground (negative potential) side output of voltage source (1) is raised by a prescribed voltage .DELTA. V by a Schottky barrier diode (4) and is connected to the ground (negative potential) side of second circuit (11) through a terminal (9). A power supply voltage supplying circuit can thereby be provided wherein latch-up is avoided while still keeping current consumption and electromagnetic interference (EMI) low.

  • Patent number: 5991344
Abstract: Provides a mobile communication device and a method for setting an AFC initial value which enables the transmission of required frequency signals even when there is no received signal as during inspections of mobile communication device performance such as technical standards conformance certification. Makes it possible to input an established frequency signal that includes a unique word into the mobile communication device as a received signal, to store a frequency offset value detected by an automatic frequency control function when the unique word included in this established frequency signal is detected in the mobile communication device, and to transmit a more accurate frequency signal when testing the performance of the mobile communication device by controlling the automatic frequency control function so that this stored frequency offset value is treated as an initial value.

  • Patent number: 5918164
Abstract: A mean value of a received signal level is calculated by a mean value computing unit, a product of multiplying this received signal mean level by a prescribed ratio is calculated by a threshold computing unit and used as a first threshold value, and when the received signal level drops below this first threshold value, communication is performed by making a switch to an antenna that receives signals at a received signal level that is higher than the first threshold value. Switching of receiving antennas is not made when the received signal mean level calculated by the mean value computing unit falls below a second threshold value. This allows antenna switching to be performed in accordance with changes in the received signal level and prevents unnecessary antenna switching from being made when the level falls below the second threshold value.

  • Patent number: 5303270
Abstract: A frame guard system comprises forward and backward guard circuits respectively having different guard stage numbers. A time after output of a frame alignment signal until first arrival of a pseudo out-of-frame signal is measured and the guard stage number of the forward guard circuit is switched in accordance with the measured time; whereas, a time after stoppage of the output of the frame alignment signal until first arrival of a pseudo synchronization signal is measured and the guard stage number of the backward guard circuit is switched in accordance with the measured time. In this way, since the respective guard stage numbers of the forward and backward guard circuits can be changed depending on a situation, the out-of-frame state after the determination of the synchronization can be prevented and thus a stable communication can be realized at all times.
