  • Publication number: 20100072284
Abstract: Connector terminals are arranged at the center of a thin memory card 1802, thereby preventing an electrical short circuit between the terminals. A step is provided to the thin memory card 1802, thereby allowing the IC chips to be stacked in a thick portion. Adhesion portions of the connector terminals 3303 are located at a position on a card insertion port side of a substrate 3002, thereby preventing the destruction of the connector terminals at the time of the card insertion. An upper retainer lid 3003 is provided on an upper portion of the connector terminals 3303, thereby preventing the deflection of the card.

  • Publication number: 20080300020
Abstract: The loss of data stored in a secure memory card, such as a SIM card, due to the physical destruction thereof is prevented. A host unit performs card authentication of a memory card, and transmits update data for the memory card by security communication to update data when the result of the authentication is OK. Then, the host unit outputs a request for mirror-updating the card data to a base station server. When an access is permitted, the card data is transmitted to the base station server via the host unit to mirror-update the card data. When the mirror-updating of the card data is completed, the base station server returns a completion confirmation to the host unit, so that a data backup process is completed. By thus causing the base station server to mirror-update the data in the memory card, the loss of the stored data is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20070090534
Abstract: A semiconductor module includes a driver IC chip and a plurality of memory IC chips on a common wiring board. Some of the memory IC chips nearer to the driver IC chip than the other memory IC chips are mounted on an interposer substrate mounted on the wiring board, providing a uniform line length among a species of signal lines for the memory IC chips.

  • Publication number: 20050248010
Abstract: A thermal expansion coefficient of a module substrate 8 is different from that of a package substrate. There is not any place where stresses generated in Interfaces between soldering balls 5 and the substrate are released. These stresses are largely applied to soldering bond, the soldering balls are strained, deformed, or cracked, and there has been a problem in long-time reliability. Slits are disposed on opposite sides of each soldering ball in a vertical direction to a side in an outer peripheral side of the package substrate, accordingly the stresses applied to the soldering balls are weakened, and the soldering balls are prevented from being strained, deformed, or cracked. When soldering strains are reduced in this manner, there can be provided a surface mounting type semiconductor package and system module having high reliability, low cost, and satisfactory electric characteristics such as low capacitance and low inductance.

  • Patent number: 6833618
Abstract: The invention provides a memory system that allows connection of a memory controller to each of plural memory modules in an equal distance. The memory system includes a memory controller, three memory modules, a single socket which the three memory modules can be inserted into and pulled out from, and a mother board on which the memory controller and the socket are mounted, etc. And, the memory controller and each of the memory modules are connected in an equal distance through the socket pins of the socket that are branched from bus wirings on the mother board. The socket is furnished with three sets of the plural socket pins in a radial form, in correspondence with each of the memory modules. The socket has two types of structures: one has three module-board contacts for one board-bus connection, and the other has one module-board contact for one board-bus connection.

  • Patent number: 6032237
Abstract: A non-volatile memory, such as a flash memory card, using a rewritable non-volatile memory is provided with an improved write-protect arrangement. The non-volatile memory includes a collectively electrically erasable and writable memory (e.g., a flash memory), a reset IC for generating a power-on reset signal upon turn-on of the power supply, and a card controller for performing control between each flash memory device and a memory card interface. The flash memory is set with a write protect save register written with an address of an area desired to be subjected to write protect, the write protect save register belonging to an attribute area, and a protect range is set from the system. Since the address to be write-protected is itself written in the non-volatile flash memory, the address will continue to be stored, even if the power is turned off. A method for software write protection control is also provided.

  • Patent number: 5227550
Abstract: Carbon tetrachloride, which is a material of low value and may be banned due to the problem of the destructiveness against the stratospheric ozone layer, can be efficiently utilized in the preparation of more useful methyl chloride by a catalytic vapor-phase reaction in a vapor mixture of carbon tetrachloride, methyl alcohol and water. The solid catalyst with which the vapor mixture is contacted at 150.degree. to 250.degree. C. is, for example, a zinc chloride catalyst supported on an active carbon carrier. The conversion of carbon tetrachloride is almost 100% when the contacting time is 10 to 20 seconds.
