  • Patent number: 7324784
Abstract: Changes in instructions for increasing/decreasing transmission power that have been decoded from TPC bits are monitored, and when the increase/decrease instructions in a prescribed time interval are biased toward instructions for increasing the transmission power, the peak direction or main lobe width of the transmission beam is changed by regulating the transmission power or transmission antenna weights that correspond to each of a plurality of antenna devices. These processes are repeated until the bias toward instructions for increasing the transmission power in the instructions for increasing/decreasing transmission power is eliminated or until the number of changes of the transmission beam reaches a maximum value that has been set in advance.

  • Patent number: 7184795
Abstract: Reception quality measuring circuit (107) measures the reception quality of received data delivered from adder (103). When the reception quality measured by reception quality measuring circuit (107) is less than a certain threshold value, transmission antenna weight control circuit (108) applies multipliers (1061–196N) with stored transmission antenna weights, that is, transmission antenna weight W? stored therein when the reception quality exceeded the threshold value at the last time, instead of transmission antenna weights W? generated by antenna weight converting circuit (105).

  • Patent number: 6917786
Abstract: A radio receiving apparatus according to the present invention includes an array antenna having a plurality of antennas and an array receiving unit, and obtains a correction amount by using a known calibration signal. The radio receiving apparatus further includes a diversity receiving unit that receives the reception outputs of the plurality of antennas as inputs, carries out diversity processing, and outputs the results, a diversity reception quality monitoring unit for monitoring the reception quality of diversity reception, and an array reception quality monitoring unit for monitoring the reception quality of array antenna reception. If the reception quality of the diversity reception is equivalent to the reception quality of the array antenna reception, then the calibration of the array receiving unit is carried out while implementing the diversity reception so as to obtain the correction amounts of the amplitude fluctuation and the phase shift of the array receiving unit.

  • Patent number: 6487174
Abstract: In a transmitting electric power control apparatus, non-linear bias characteristic in S/N measurement is previously obtained by measurement, and a conversion table for realizing this reverse characteristic is created in an S/N measuring circuit 10, and when a measured S/N value is output from the dividing circuit 9, the table conversion circuit 1 receives this S/N value as an input and outputs a corrected S/N value from the above-described conversion table, whereby it is possible to provide the S/N measurement with high accuracy, and this corrected and measured S/N is compared with a target S/N, and a demand for increasing and decreasing transmitting electric power is transmitted to a mobile station 53, and, in the mobile station 53, in accordance with the instruction from the base station 20, the transmitting electric power is determined and a coded information signal is transmitted.

  • Patent number: 6373881
Abstract: A CDMA communication receiver comprises a memory for storing chip samples representing amplitudes of a despreading chip sequence sampled at intervals smaller than chip intervals of the chip sequence. From the memory, sync search and tracking circuitry reads a set of chip samples spaced from each other by the chip intervals and spaced from corresponding chip samples of adjacent sets by the smaller intervals, and detects a match or mismatch between the read chip samples and the incoming data sequence. If they match, it is determined that the read chip samples is a synchronized chip sequence. Otherwise, a next set of chip samples is read from the memory for making a further test between the next set and the incoming data sequence. A despreading filter despreads the incoming data sequence with the synchronized chip sequence.

  • Publication number: 20020018516
Abstract: A transmission power control system comprises a quality deterioration detector and a transmission power control bit adjusting unit connected to the quality deterioration detector. The quality deterioration detector detects quality deterioration of a communication state of radio communication between a base station and mobile stations. The transmission power control bit adjusting unit adjusts the transmission power control bit signals so as to suppress increase of transmission power of the mobile stations when the quality deterioration detector detects the quality deterioration.

  • Patent number: 6208683
Abstract: In a direct sequence/code division multiple access (DS/CDMA) type interference canceller receiving apparatus having a delaying unit for delaying a reception signal into zeroth through (N−1)-th delayed signals, zeroth through (N−1)-th path receivers for demodulating the zeroth thorough the (N−1)-th delayed signals into zeroth through (N−1)-th demodulated signals, and a combining unit for combining the zeroth through the (N−1)-th demodulated signals into a combined signal, an n-th path receivers includes an n-th follow-up path detection unit for detecting an n-th follow-up path for the n-th path receiver on the basis of a peculiar spread code in response to an n-th coefficient control signal. The n-th follow-up path detection unit produces n-th follow-up path information indicative of the n-th follow-up path.

  • Patent number: 3999928
Abstract: Apparatus for continuously shaping a heated thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet into a desired configuration followed by any desired processing, wherein the synthetic resin sheet extruded from a forming die is drawn by suction onto a shaping surface of the apparatus main body which is provided therein with a heat transfer medium accommodating chamber to constantly maintain the shaping surface of the main body at an appropriate temperature by quickly heating the shaping surface to an appropriate temperature prior to commencement of operation of the shaping apparatus, and by cooling the shaping surface to prevent the same from temperature rise due to contact with the heated synthetic resin sheet after the shaping apparatus starts operation. The apparatus is further provided with a heat transfer medium feeding means to automatically feed the heat transfer medium at a desired temperature into the heat transfer medium accommodating chamber.
